Blizzard you're doing fine. There's nothing wrong with loot

Yea, I notice people keep saying “its like classic loot drop rates, this is what you guys wanted!!!” – except they’re missing a very important detail – namely that personal loot was not a thing back then, and loot could be funneled to the players/specs/classes that would make the most use of it.

This is also an excellent point! When gear comes very quickly it just means all those Tanks and Healers who no life it on week 1 quickly become raid loggers which means the guys talking about gear now, end up changing their argument to queue times as DPS as the “problem”.

There is a problem. More pieces cannot be traded. If they are gonna bring back old systems, said old systems should have the full thing. Master loot is still not a thing, so this is nothing more than a mirage of younger years.

I don’t understand how you can say this and say and think the loot issue is fine.

There will always be those who run M+ into the ground to gear up, this system doesn’t punish them, it punishes the people who run one or two dungeons a night and have no means to catch up.

I would much rather not run 10 a day just for a single piece of gear, I would like to run a few, get a piece or two that’s relevant and move on with my day.

Clearly you seem to be stuck on the loot issue.

You are asking for it though, wanting it or not. Increasing the reward, in drops, reduces the time needed to get that gear – given the amount of m+ runs people are running, everyone will be geared by next week at higher rates.

Each tier is generally going to last ~20 weeks; if your raid is completely geared and done by week 8 — it becomes the un-sub and wait game.

And under your model, you’d have 16 slots in what, 2 weeks? In a season that will last 20 weeks.

Im stuck on a lot of things, I post frequently in the #pulltheripcord as well.

Just because we are here, arguing a single point doesn’t mean its the only thing that drives me

By the way pull the ripcord.

Again, if they want to rush to the end that’s their business, you holding them back just screwes over the ones ejoing the game more slowly

Who said I’m logging on every day to do a dungeon? maby I PvP one day, many I run around and do side quests or level an alt.

You’re using the extreme of guestimate I made off the top of my head and assume I’m just tunneling M+ all day? Jeeze you have a poor view of me

Those are really good points.

I am trying to think of ways to get around that but everything I think of then I notice the other side that would still have the issues you bring up.

Perhaps they could make gear upgradable with a badge system so even if you didn’t get a new piece you could still make your current piece a bit better like they did in MoP.

Frogs. So many frogs. Anyone remember frogs?

I’m over 60. I started working when I was 11, doing field work alongside immigrant workers. I have had more hard, dirty jobs than you can imagine. At one point I took 20 college credits while working 35 hours a week.

Both people I play with a lot are over 50 and have worked hard their entire lives for what they have.

All of us think WoW is more fun when a variety of rewards are dispensed as we play.

So stop with the tough guy old man bit. There is nothing soft about wanting rewards that matter for a variety of game-play.

Blizzard has broken the economy, broken professions, and now is alienating many of those doing harder content. How the company that makes the lootapalooza that is the Diablo franchise could forget that people like loot s kind of astounding.

I don’t like the fact that they tied vault rewards to activities that you can’t even do unless you have a good guild with people who are willing to help you gear up for…M+ and raiding. If you aren’t in a raiding guild you aren’t getting anything there, and trying to do M+ in PUGs is nearly impossible unless you have decent gear and a good IO score.

The 3rd option which is PVP is also NOT an option for some people who simply don’t LIKE to PVP.

So for people who just say “oh well it’s no big deal cause you still get loot from the vault” Nah…not everyone. And it STILL doesn’t make up for the loss of bonus roll tokens regardless since we used to be able to have 3 per week with a max of 5 at any given time. That awards a chance at loot MUCH more often

If you aren’t doing content that gets the loot then you aren’t doing content that needs the loot.

I understand people always want better gear (and I am not saying that snarkily), but thems the breaks.

You don’t get it…It’s not that I’m not CHOOSING to do the content (Except for the PVP part ofc)

It’s because I’m UNABLE to do the content. I’m locked out of it because mythic+ and even mythic0 is done using the group finder. People making the groups are the gatekeepers and they REFUSE to run with anyone who isn’t geared well enough to carry them or at the very least be able to stay alive well enough to get them to the end and beat the clock in the process.

Elitist a-holes in this game is the problem…not my lack of participation

InB4 someone makes the obligatory “Just make your own group then” remark.

Name ONE group you’ve made as a DPS that tanks/healers have actually joined.

Make your own group and invite the other people on the forums complaining that they don’t get invited. If you guys would just get together and invite each other then you would all be able to do the content.

Yeah but I don’t want to run a dungeon 47 times with a chance at loot not a guaranteed one piece per and the the RNG around getting the piece you want then having to get the same item on a higher level. There are multiple levels of RNG.

  1. do I get a piece at all?
  2. is it the piece I want from the dozen items I can loot in the instance for my spec.
  3. am I doing a high enough ilvl dungeon in the first instance for it to be an upgrade.
  4. can I even get a group in the first place as a dps that isn’t certain specs or a lust class or overgearing the content anyway.

It’s sloppy antiquated design aimed to appease raiders.

And the time investment isn’t worth it.

Your post came JUST after my edit where I commented on this already

You didn’t address the whole thing. What is preventing you from inviting the people on the forums also complaining about not being invited? Or are you guys gonna turn each other down too?

I’d rather just unsub.

Simpler. Gives me more time to do other things. And doesn’t fund crappy content and poor design aimed at making the game harder.

The way M+ loot worked in BFA didn’t need to be changed. The only reason it did was complaints from raiders not feeling special enough.

Bottom line is I won’t fund garbage.

I wouldnt expect you to play WoW forever. Games change, life changes, and you move on. Shadowbane doesnt exist anymore. I would go back to UO or EQ if those games were updated with current technology and graphics. Plus, I played those games with my guild and over the last 20+ years everyone has moved on to different aspects of their lives. Even old WoW was more fun with my guild. Classic couldn’t ever recapture the awesome things we did in WoW long ago.

Nothing in my post was about loot in M+. Only the vault and that IS the same in the worst case scenario and far improved otherwise.
