It’s pretty telling that even the people who want this to happen can’t actually think of any reason it should happen, they just want “the other side” to get dumped on.
are you people stupid?
i never said she didn’t know people would die, or that she didn’t commit mass murder
it is specifically about whether or not it was GENOCIDE
something that requires a very specific set of circumstances and intent to exist at all
and isn’t down to even exterminating a people
No… it isn’t.
/Facepalm
End of conversation.
I think we already know how you reason.
If you tell me that you are a defense lawyer, I would believe it.
Keep in mind, “mass murder” and “genocide” are synonymous. It wasn’t until later in history that “genocide” took on a second meaning.
dude, things go different ways
if he KNEW people were there and he wanted them to die it is murder
if he knew people were inside and angrily started a fire it’s manslaughter or reckless homicide and can go either way
it’s not about “reasoning” it’s about how laws and definitions work, which y’know happens to be an important thing when talking about if something IS…anything
you’re one of the only people in this thread that isn’t arguing with your feelings. bless you.
legally they’re not, atleast not in most places
the history of the terms may have started in the same place but as it stands we have specific definitions for two seperate actions
calling it mass murder instead of genocide doesn’t mean it was right or ok, just that it doesn’t meet the criteria to be classified as genocide under current definitions, legally or otherwise
If you tell me that you are a defense lawyer, I would believe it.
That would explain your reasoning.
For us, the commonplace of mortals, murder is murder, no matter whether it is hot or premeditated.
and the same goes with the genocide.
inprudent genocide
I had to call it according to your ways?
She killed a large number of a People from a military political faction that wanted to destroy ,by destroying her City with the knowledge that these civilians were inside and meant no threator military objective of interest.
I know blizzard tells a disjointed story. I assure you they did link elune to the void and they have linked the naru to the void.
It happened in Legion the last dg they added in that expac and during the BfA Xalatath questline.
Not to pick on specifically you - what’s up dakkar! - but I’ve always looked at Sylvanas as being uncontrollably cruel, an inversion of the concept of hope and defender (which she was in life).
Hope is her trigger. Hope is weakness to her. Hope is what got her and many of her people killed by Arthas: the hope that they could defeat him and overcome such adversity.
You cannot kill hope, which I think she may know (?) but she hates Hope because it’s what gets people killed.
She snapped at that. Burned the tree. Realized that, in her eyes, the Kal’dorei were weak just like she was and her people were. And annihilating them would be doing the world and perhaps the conflict she believes is coming a service.
Same with Saurfang. Saurfang knew he could goad Sylvanas into being cruel and in being cruel she would “lose” and display her unbridled cruelty - and divulge what she really thinks.
(All this written above and I still really dig Sylvanas because I think the above shows a good character depth and weakness that is tragic given what she was in life).
My hot take!
So that means the walking burgers can stop crying about Taurajo? And the corpse loving elves can stop crying about finally being dealt with as the traitors to the neutrality of the Kirin Tor that they are? And the rest of the Horde should have been wiped out for the corpses’ treachery at Wrathgate alone?
you’re an alliance belf my dude.
If they ( Devs ) are trying to villainize Tyrande, they are doing it wrong!
Unlike horde leaders who do things driven by greed, wickedness or envy, Tyrande is moved by justice!
She did not wake up one fine day and decided to blight Gilneas and South Shore, destroy Theramore, invade and pervert sacred sites in Pandaria to move with powers she did not understand, abandoned the alliance surrounded by the Legion, after saying it would protect our rear, enslave the queen of valkyr to conquer her immortality and attack the alliance because of her covenant with unholy powers!
Like any alliance hero, your actions will be for justice to those who suffer and revenge for the dead!
Tyrande will not be vilified for giving Syl, or any member of the horde who tries to stop her, the taste of justice of the night elves!
It is past time for the Horde to have some of its cities destroyed and we see the alliance getting a free pass for it!
garithos. arthas. just two of the top of my head that are alliance but are definitely not heroes.
So? Wasn’t a fan of the Sunreavers’ actions back then either.
(Incidentally this guy was a belf but got shelved until velves became available because I thought Garrosh was just a phase but nooooo… they had to make Edge Lady warchief for reasons).
Were alliance. Hence, not an alliance hero anymore…
it seems odd to me you’re being so vile about horde things but playing a horde race. what race did you main before you made this velf?
This isn’t about legally. It’s about linguistics and actual definitions. You can’t argue legality in fantasy game.
No, they didn’t. She’s always been both Light and Dark and rumored to have been there at the beginning of their creation. She’s not a void lord or part of the void or rumored to be. Lore literally states she’s a full deity. We have no others that are actual gods.
yeah and garrosh and sylvie are not part of the horde anymore but that doesn’t stop alliance from whining about both.
