The joke is people thinking that in OCE we actually pay to play the same game. You guys are on platinum membership whilst we are on silver at best.

I don’t get how they charge y’all more. I live in Japan and I pay with JPY, but I go through the EN site and it does the exchange rate through my card iirc.
A lot of people would really flip if blizz just said:
$15USD for everybody and let the converter do the math.
Use that argument all you want, it’s true yes that we have been paying a better rate, even when we were paying a higher rate when the exchange rate was over the other way to the dollar the sub price never went down.
And history shows that no company ever is going to lower prices on products like this, it just never happens. So if we ever got back to a 1:1 or better for us will Blizzard lower the price some? Of course they won’t and than when we come here to ask to put the price back, will Blizzard listen? Of course not.
If the dollar ever goes the other way is that OCE players will ask for a lower sub to go back to how it was, or better, and in line with the exchange rates, we will bring up this change as an example and what will happen? US players will yell and scream, they will tell us no like what is happening now and even use an excuse like “It’s an AMERICAN GAME be thankful you have your own server” and something like “The cost of living is higher in Australia, it should cost more”.
It will happen if the exchange ever goes the other way guaranteed. This is just another change for a company in profit to make more profit and a perfect example of a corporation that at the top does not care for anything other than money.
Find an excuse to raise the price, justify your reasoning, never put the price back down when it gets better and calculate the difference. That is they increase the price, lose an estimated 15% of their players, will the higher cost give them more or less money? If the estimated loss gives them more money in the long run than they pull the trigger. Big wig corporate bosses only care for the short term end figure, they don’t care that in 5 years there will be 500K players left, just keep raising the price, removing server space, lowering their workforce and run the company into the ground.
I would love to have this and our calendar times fixed at bare minimum now that we are paying more, they can use the extra income to sort this.
