Welcome to capitalism
Blizzard stopped caring about their employees and their playerbase a very very very long time ago.
The only difference is they don’t bother trying to hide it anymore.
They fired Ythisens and kept Lore.
Pretty sure a random person on the General Forum can’t do much worse.
I don’t get why anyone would be upset by this. They have no impact on how the game is made. They aren’t firing any of the devs.
The only mistake Lore made was calling people d-bags on Twitter or something like that, Yhisens on the other hand, he was a little trollish on the forums, like one time someone said ‘stop dying’ and Ythiens said that was good advice, anyway we not allowed to talk about Blizz employers directly, but just saying Lore made an honest mistake by what he said behind our backs about us lol
Hey listen I just noticed people got offended by my original post, so if Blizz wants to remove it that’s cool, I do think it’s getting a little out of hand as people crossing the line between mentioning Blizzard employees anyway, I’d prefer they keep the thread up and just lock it or something like that.
I said what I wanted to say really.
Eh. It’s ancient history but Lore always came off as a douchenozzle to me. Any post he made just felt like he was talking down to the community, his “interviews” with Ion were pathetic - didn’t help matters that he showed up each time looking like a homeless person who stapled a brillo pad to the top of his head.
Yth actually interacted with the community as a CM and was a presence on the forum. He came off as a gamer, first and foremost, which is always nice.
Well this thread probably got reported because we kind of crossing the line about talking about Blizz employees and ex-employees.
For the record, I think what Lore said about us was true though lol.
I don’t even really remember what he said. I just know he was the community manager who called the community, or members of it, Dbags.
That should have earned him walking papers on the spot. Yet he still had a job when others in his department lost theirs. Wouldn’t have been my decision. lol
I agree with you.
That’s more accurate, yay!
Well Blizzard restored this post that people didn’t like, so we can keep talking about, still would encourage us to not mention names of Blizz employees directly.
I admit while I don’t mind if they moving away from e-sports, it’s always a shame to hear people losing their jobs.
It was, that’s why people got so pissy. Truth hurts.
I don’t think a bunch of marketing and customer service people in France are going to affect your chat in game. Sucks when people lose jobs, but everyone seems to overlook Blizz tried to move half of these jobs to London.
Its called consolidating meaning there just winding down the company until they get as much money before they close it all down or put it on life support. They do this all the time they don’t care about your feelings. They just want more money. They don’t care about there family or lively hood. They are just some number on a pay check. In the real world rich people don’t care about you or how you feel… Its just the green in your pocket they care about.
I’ll break it down in case you need this.
step one: Gather all assestes
Step two: start cutting unnecessary staff and the original people so you can come in and act like you care (but you really don’t)
Step three: Use name brand until no one likes it no more.
Step four: Act like you did nothing wrong and blame some person that had nothing to do with it. Then fire that guy.
Step five: Close company because how was I suppose to know I had to care about the customer.
Did I said that? What I said is that there is a reason why they are payed that amount. Investors are not morons, they are paying this much because the person that they think will make them millions is asking for that much.
Did I said you said this?
I don’t remember mentioning EA once.
What does that has to do with anything? Are CEOs over payed because of corruption? Corruption is when you betray the person hiring you for your own benefit, by leaking secret information or by wasting that person’s money on things that you shouldn’t. How does this apply here?
Oh so if a person disagrees with you that person must be a CEO… Amazing logic you got there mate.
Corporations exist to make money. Petition your socialist government to make France more profitable if you want more corporations.
The same value as people in Vietnam, India, or Mexico, except you can fire them if they’re incompetent.
I miss the days of being able to call Blizzard support and getting help immediately on something.
Seems pretty simply to me. Minimize costs, Maximize profits. Just keep cutting positions until things get so bad you delay a pre-patch and have a PTR level build pushed onto the retail client. Oh and you delay the xpac as well.
