Not really. This was supposedly a hold out office from their Vivendi days that handled EU marketing and localization. They are just moving that work to other offices.

maybe they wouldn’t have to if ppl bought the ingame shop items the employees created hmmm and if ppl didnt force a delay for the 1%ers which is pissing off the normal players
It very well could have been. I don’t know if anybody can confirm or deny it. My point just being that its rarely a good thing when you have to close a facility.

I probably will be not buying SL. And guess what after about 6 months when everyone has had enough so will they. I’m happy for those that are happy to play but don’t complain when you lvl to 60 in eight hours and find the only thing left to do is to lvl more toons. Each to their own I suppose.

I actually find it quite amusing how many people act like “I pay you so much so meet this demand”. Why don’t you actually go into your account and see how much in sub and store fees you’ve paid through the years.
My guess is you probably haven’t paid even 1/5th of even one average person’s yearly salary throughout the entire life of your account…let alone what it would cost to keep an entire office going.
If you want to keep them employed, you hire them then. Otherwise stop demanding other companies do so. It was also my understanding (and I could be wrong here) that this office shutdown was known something like 6-9 months ago. It isn’t like in the US when employers literally tell you as they are shutting down your access and escorting you off the premises and utterly devastating your financial house of cards in an instant.
