Blizzard’s been in Irvine, CA for most of its existence. The cost of living there didn’t used to be so high. California, in general, is really not a good state to do business in anymore.
What? They are heavily unionized.
WHAT?!
Walmart, that Hillary Clinton had her hands in for years, is “right wing?” The Walmart that is also bowing down to China and the far left?
Not sure what that proves, unless you are claiming that all companies are paying that exact same wages.
Sweat equity is a thing. If you wanted it bad enough, you would find a way. Just saying!
This is perhaps the sickest burn in the history of burns.

Sweat equity is a thing. If you wanted it bad enough, you would find a way. Just saying!
That is incorrect!
hxtps://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-couch/201208/the-great-myth-hard-work
Sounds like we should just raise minimum wage to $100/hr. That’ll fix everything.
This person is actually trying to disprove the theory of sweat equity by citing people that cant overcome genetic disorders? LOL what on earth?
This is the way companies operate now.
If they can outsource for 3 cents an hour less, they will.
If you work at a place for 20-years, they’ll have you train your own replacement and give you the boot.
There’s no loyalty anymore in the corporate world.
It’ll all have to come crashing down eventually.
You keep linking this article like it says hard work doesn’t pay off at all. The article right at the beginning says it doesn’t always pay off. Well no kidding it doesn’t always pay off. Nothing is certain. Working hard increases your chances for success. So does making good lifestyle choices. The more poor decisions you make in your life, the less likely you are to succeed. If we go off what Machiavelli once argued, if you make all the right decisions in your life, you got a 50/50 shot at success.
I despise what these companies are doing to their workers and they have my sympathies but there reaches a point where they have to realize that they are not slaves. LEAVE! And when the new crop comes in and get treated badly, LEAVE!
Either go somewhere else that will treat you better or increase your personal worth by learning something people consider more valuable. When the market is ripe with hungry developers and people that will answer phones for a living, you’re going to be competing for lower wages. And these companies are exploiting it among other things(company prestige, etc).
Do you really want to tie your livelihood to something that can be made irrelevant at the flip of a switch? They have my sympathies but GTFO of there. Do it. Do it now!
Link any argument/study that you want. History is filled with companies clawing their way to success! It’s not easy, but where there is a will, there is a way!
M8, I want my Pilots license and a small one seater plane to see the USA from the sky. As, since moving up, I have experienced and love seeing the USA in my area from a motorcycle, the sky is next.
Moving up to another job instead of complaining and sitting at FedEx Ground not paying more, helped a lot. Got my certifications and technical diploma.
Hard work, does pay off in the end, if you’re smart about it.
I don’t doubt there is but most job listings dont list a salary or per hour wage to them. You negotiate it when you get an interview. You could say you expect a 60k salary but the next interviewee could ask for 55k and keep undercutting till you have someone who will work for far below you.
I say this as i work in CA around Silicon Valley and job competition is like the Hunger Games.

Give me a loan and I would. Too bad the banks won’t give a loan to someone who can’t afford a meal.
HAHAHAHA
If you can’t afford a meal, why are you wasting money and time on a wow sub? You should probably log off and go do some work.

FROM THE BLIZZARD CAFETERIA.
Anyone got a menu?

They are only leftist about social issues.
When it comes to unions and other things like that they are all Right wingers. Because unregulated capitalism. brought to you by the Right.
Or in other words not a true scotsmen eh?
Take a look at it. It cites nothing. It gives some abstract examples about a schizophrenic who cant overcome his schizophrenia with hard work. I find it hard to believe he even read this article and just saw the title on Google and pasted a link.
With all of the crap that just went down with covid, and the extended and inflated UI benefits for people that even just simply just saw reduced hours, THAT was the chance to get out and transition to a new job/career without much suffrage. That was an opportunity to cover your expenses while you networked or got out of california.
You’re working for a leftist company in a leftist state that does nothing but consume it’s citizens wealth and sanity. If you aren’t seeing the writing on the wall and getting out, you’re asking for it.
My brother was a game tester for Capcom when he was in college. He got payed just over min wage. The only thing I remember him liking about that job was free games. He left that job after college to work in IT for banks now making good money. I don’t think any game company pays support and testers anything even close to their Devs. You want that kind of cash improve your skills and apply for those kind of jobs. Testers and support are the burger flippers of the game industry.
