Put in a ticket.
Not true . The players are actually donating directly to Doctors Without Borders and are the ones receiving the receipts for tax purposes.
Iâve received receipts from MSF (Doctors Without Borders ) for both of my donations.
Now if Blizzard has done so also then yes they will get a receipt but that is separate from what the players have donated.
So Blizzard is acting as a pass through or a donor match? That is suspiciously altruistic for a giant corporation. Kudos to them if thatâs the case.
Yes because digital monkey is so much more valuable then providing needed healthcare during a pandemic to those in 3rd world countries.
Any body who thinks the value of TCG Bananas is more important then their fellow humans , then I feel sorry for how pathetic their lives must truly be.
This is the most first world problem Iâve ever seen on the forums
Well done OP youâve exceeded my expectations
GD never disappoints
They should give another to people that already had it. Some like to carry two or three of the same pets for some battles.
My ticket came back with the answer that everyone has received it so far so I have to wait for another 5 hours until the 24 hour period is up to ask again. (that 24 hour period was actually supposed to be for store items they are getting money for so I am not sure why that is the magic number).
i always facepalm when people think corporations donât benefit when they host a charity. sure, they donât get any upfront money to put in their coffers from those who are donating, but they do get a hefty tax break when the IRS comes knocking⌠so yeah, they donât make money, but they get to keep more money away from the IRS and away from us the people who benefit from the things taxes pay for.
Not really sure how they could claim this a tax deduction since individuals are donating directly to DWB/MSF. This also isnât like when a company donates their products or raffles them off because Blizzard still is maintaining ownership over the digital pets.
I love to bash Blizzard for being greedy almost every chance I can get. But this may be one of the very few examples where they arenât.
they get a tax break for costs associated with marketing and hosting the charity
Marketing possibly but that seems like a stretch. They didnât host the charity. They made a web page that refers you to DSF own website. Thatâs like saying an influencer should get a massive tax break for referring you to UNICEF on Twitter
I didnât get the pet yet. How to I claim it?
thereâs far more than just a webpage⌠you gotta keep in mind the âexpensesâ associated with blizzard staff/people contacting and workign with the charity, as the charity is onboard and officially sanctioned it, and all the required background work to get things going, all of which is tax deductible and blizzard can set the premium within reason to count as the expenses/resources used to organize it.
Also the sponsorship of the charity is deductible as well, as sponsorships are deductible.
The reason why streamers or influencers donât get to deduct them referring you to unicef is simply because of that⌠they merely just referred you, they didnât actually work with unicef or set things up or whatever costs associated with sponsorship/volunteering their time and effortâŚ
âŚand if they did, then yes, itâs 100% deductible, however youâll never hear a streamer/influencer discuss their next yearâs tax deductions, rather they just say some throwaway line about how they arenât making any money off your donations (which is true) because instead they are getting a tax break for next yearâs taxes that they simply donât mention.
Such an odd thing to happen! I get that thereâs manufactured scarcity but like. What?
I had Bananas. Now I have two.
Did you actually⌠claim it
Scaling issues, the war on flying, broken promises about character customization, doubling down on content that is garbage (the maw , Torghast), etc, etc.
YESâŚyes they do.
Got to the pet section on the WoW online store. Should be able to claim it there.
Yea so selfish to put on a charity event and give free pets out⌠they should be ashamed of themselvesâŚ
