blizzard … once a brand of prestige.
It will be interesting to see what they do in the next few days.
Removing the Afrasiabi materials in game would appease players slightly, but would basically be an admission of guilt from another point of view.
I’m interested in seeing how the standard retinue of White Knights try to work their mental gymnastics into arguing this is great for Blizzard and the players and victims are at fault.
In what way do I support them? Prove that I haven’t unsubbed.
You seem to be having a great time trying to impose your views as the right ones also. Pot meet kettle…
Yeah. They made significant changes by firing every low-level employee so the higher ups wouldn’t be tempted. This is why we don’t have support like we used to, right?
What Blizzard allowed to happen, and refused to fix the problems, despite allegations, suicides, and more.
By the way Kotick has had lawsuits against him for harassment which he lost. In addition he was in Epstein’s little black book. Blizzard’s done a very clean sweep of the forums for that one.
For the “Anti Harassment” training, this is required by Californian law. It’s not something special they do, like they’re implying.
Update: While I was adding the last paragraph, someone edited my post and removed something. Censors are out.
removing an npc would not appease players imo. and it shouldnt
It seems that there has been changes since 2015 according this person
who also stresses that most of the wow team are wonderful people and that you should not pull support but that the few people who are the issue should be held accountable.
Also, this isn’t just a blizzard problem, it’s an industry problem. Game companies were/are definitely old boys clubs and that’s what needs to change.
I can’t prove that. You claimed to have quit playing but still have achievements from playing the other day. The game isn’t as horrible as people want to pretend it is. People get mad, it’s whatever. It’s hard to believe people on the forum.
Anyways…
This I can agree on.
Agreed, but it would be at least a small step in the right direction.
That this was going on FOR MANY YEARS and he got his NPC is just… so bad. That he (likely, i feel) left Blizzard because of this and they KEPT the NPC in is worse.
Investigation STARTED 2 years ago, meaning it was going on a lot earlier than that and it’s clear from the report that (allegedly) the higher ups were in the loop. I would think the verbal coaching and counseling things they did with Afrasiabi were documented and will be used in evidence.
Nah. More like a letter dictated by some salty upper management figure who thinks “he’s one of the good guys”, and thinks he can go on the attack against the State government because he’s got some pull at a big multi-national corporation. I wouldn’t be surprised if his lawyers told him no, but he insisted because he wants to show the world how GOOD he is, and how he won’t take someone bossing him around and telling others he’s a bad guy.
Meanwhile, y’know, they laid off Alex Asfrabi last year, so it is pretty obvious they knew what kind of stuff was going on internally, and thought a few dismissals was enough to address the complaints.
Like, let’s be real. A lawyer-written letter doesn’t attack the state economy as if that is in any way relevant to the defense of the company. The idea of attacking the economy as some kind of indictment against the State (when the State isn’t on trial) is such a sad and incorrect “play” to make. Either deny or minimize, but attacking the State is not how you get out of charges.
Always good to know WoW Ge forums are full of legal and hr experts.
It is an anime plot. Dudes running the company have this delusion that they’re questing heroes making the world a better place while actually being major villains who enable a disgusting and degenerate culture. And giving a villainous monologue about how they’re totally okay because the economy is in shambles or whatever is straight out of some cliche anime.
My mother, who voted for a certain ex-president, also says crap like this. “California’s a HOLE.” She’s…something. I’m gonna go agead and guess a higher-up wrote this without any legal advice whatsoever. There’s literally only like, 2 people who would have written this and put their stamp of approval on it. We know who they are.
Disgusting response. Honestly not surprised. The games gone downhill and they can’t even handle a good response to there disgusting behavior. I’m glad I’m unsubbed
Bobby and Robby, Bobby’s secret twin?
Specific line is right after that and I quote:
“It’s top leadership is also exclusively male and white. The CEO and President roles are now— and have always been— held by white men.(3).”
It makes one really wonder what these Californian Lawyers idea of a recourse to such a “crime” is. To fire people who helped found a company once it has become big, demand retirement based off skin color, and then engage in rehiring new upper management exclusively because of skin color? Because at it’s core that statement shows that these California Lawyers are being racists in their logic.
I almost feel like Brack or others should say “Gee whiz California. Sorry we didn’t retire!”
A lot of people by their toxic narratives, especially of late may have it out for white people; but that does not and never has precluded said people or individuals from receiving the EXACT same protections under the law that are and should be afforded to every other racial denomination that is an American Citizen.
What the DFEH wrote at it’s core is racist, and for that reason in addition to this lawsuit seeming rather frivolous; I hope these three attorneys are disbarred by the end of it. I say that only because I have seen other attorneys be disbarred or disciplined over, far, far less brazen wording.
Only in California. No I take that back, only on Figeroa Street in L.A. could such a warped mentality thrive or be considered a legitimate argument to bring up in a complaint. It makes one wonder whether these three passed the Bar Exam or were given a pass because of nepotism.
I do find a problem with that stuff… If your best candidates are white men are you just supposed to pass them up for the “quota”.
Maybe this is the push to get this game on F2P.
Cool, all that old stuff was just water under the bridge.
Have to ask if she 1) was in a relationship with her supervisor as they claim. 2) she was extremely harassed at the company including pictures of her being spread. 3) If she did indeed do this on a business trip.
