I did that. 40 minutes later the queue still hadn’t popped and I gave up.
You don’t have to be contrary just for the sake of being contrary. There is no point in trying to defend Blizzard.

That’s irrelevant to the penalties for it.
somepeeps dont think they have enough help defending themselfs
Is the LFR deserter debuff still a thing? I thought someone mentioned it was changed? O,<? Hopefully. lol >.<"
This happened to me yesterday. Did LFR, got a group that had already killed first boss, killed second / third boss, left, re-queued, got in to a group, killed first boss, and left (already killed other two), and BAM 30 minute deserter debuff. Am I supposed to stay to kill bosses I already killed? MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE BLIZZARD! How about REMOVE THIS BS, the fix you implemented is worthless now, no one is farming normals/heroics for the trinket now.
I thought you could still get Warbound equipment to drop from bosses you had already done. Did that get nerfed already??
If you’re a tank/healer maybe, or someone dabbling into LFR “because”. MOST of us doing LFR aren’t going to get into a normal raid because there’s a reason were doing LFR. Either gear or just plain lack of interest means were not going to sit and enlessly apply to a group. We’ll just queue up and do the other world content we enjoy.
Which is a near 0% drop rate, no thanks even if it’s true.
I have to agree. I stopped trying to do normal raids, back in Cata, as I had my gear exactly as it should have been, the right GS, and I couldn’t get into raids because I ‘‘didn’t have the achievement yet.’’
I love LFR.
But is still not fixed. I was getting deserteur debuff today with my monk on running Nerubar LFR wing 2 a second time (first bosses 2 & 3, then boss 1 kill and left).
Got the debuff beside that I had ID for all three bosses and nothing left to do in LFR.
Really weird decisions, they’ve been making, lately.
I guess I can time my last lfr boss to coincide with when I’m going to stop playing for the day? I guess? Skipped it last week to avoid the debuff.
Less healers. mm.
It’d be really nice if they would issue some sort of statement saying it’s not intended to work this way and they’re working on how the deserter debuff works for LFR.
They sorta messed LFR up fixing a dungeon issue. If they want queued content to be enjoyable, it doesn’t begin with putting your backfillers in a poor situation off the rip.
They won’t. I put in a ticket for it and they basically confirmed this change is intentional on their part. Yes, Blizzard CHOSE to punish you for backfilling.
They then suggest to give them feedback on these forums (which is what we’re both doing here)…but I’m about 99% sure they’ll just ignore it.
Edit: or maybe it’s not. Later in the same ticket they called it a bug again. One GM says it’s intentional, another says it’s a bug…I think Blizzard doesn’t know up from down at this point. Small indie company problems.
Perhaps I need to shout at the clouds harder.
If it is indeed intentional, that’s a poor choice.
I’ve been lucky to not get in backfill situations myself recently when doing LFR. I have a feeling if I was queuing solo it’d be a different situation though.
If they want poor metrics for LFR, that’s their choice. Realistically will just skip it and do normal raids or delves. Shame.
That’s what you’re “supposed” to do, but the tangible incentives to do it are so weak selfish players won’t, and then resent being punished for selfishness. (Somebody is probably going to object to my choice of words, but how else do you describe someone who believes that they have no obligation to anyone else in the community?)
Two ideas I have for this problem:
P.S. They’re not punishing anyone for backfilling. They’re punishing them for ditching the second run, and thus delaying it AND forcing even more people to get backfilled. The issue is that finishing the second run has so little reward people feel like they should be allowed to ditch it, and that’s what needs to be fixed.
Sure. Screw over the solo players. Good move.
i reckon less people are playing the game than ever for a new release and they are just trying to fill the holes by forcing people to stay and do a grp to fill it.
Pretty sure doing LFR automatically means you aren’t a solo player by definition lol.
It just means you get to leave early next time you enter a fresh raid.
Blizzard could fix by removing loot from the LFR bosses. Instead loot will come from a chest at the end of the wing where people roll on.
Here people running the LFR wing from the beginning and from backfill get equal chances, so that getting backfilled will no longer be a punishment.
Consequently people leaving early will get nothing.
