Blizzard Punishing People for Backfilling LFR

Who willingly wants to join a in prog run? You get NOTHING out of it besides wasted time

i don’t do LOOKING FOR REPAIR at all but even I think this was a dumb change. Maybe they should just move ALL LOOT to the end of these things. That or STOP backfilling healers and DPS into LFR since raids are supposed to be flex as it is,.

And then you face the penalty for leaving after the first boss because there is no reason for you to stay for two more that you are already loot locked for. It was a dumb idea to apply this change to LFR, at the very least it should check to see if you are already loot locked to remaining bosses and let you out if so.

29k achievement points and you don’t understand how the game works? That’s impressive.

but why are they penalizing players who are joining AFTER others quit? Its not the backfilled players fault. sorry confused

It’s actually guaranteed though that you get a fresh run if you stay and help others finish.

Though I too have other characters, so I would just log over to a different character. I wouldn’t stay and down bosses I already did when I am loot locked and it would be a complete waste of my time.

I had that happen this week too. Maybe next week will be different since now people know about the chain reaction. But i doubt it

They should just have a thing that shows that you’re back filling when que pops and you should then have an option to decline and wait for next.

Probably because no group would get to the end.

People leave. If you give people a choice to not join, no one joins. So everyone gets stuck in an endless loop of doing the first boss, people leave, no one joins.

Seems like they do have a hidden system to balance out the number of times you get a fresh group or have to fill in. So maybe it’s just something you have to do.

Good solution to having to fill in for the back half of an LFR is a choice to be put at the front of the line for a fresh group when you finish it.

Being honest LFR Wings are 50% why I love wow! Which means I would definitely love raiding, I love Black Temple Timewalking, best 4 hours of my wow-life.
All the jokes, meltdowns, inconsistencies, group breakdowns, ted-talks… It actually feels like an MMO!
Now, How does this link to the topic? Even if there’s one boss left in a 4 boss wing, I’ll still do it. It’s fun!
I gotta do the new wing! My group has hit the famous wall with mythics. We tried Dawnbreaker and couldn’t get through the first boss, got her down to 10% but, we dont’ have enough. I fear since my damage is terrible now (good gear will fix, I hope, cuz my crit and haste are bad!) I’ll have to main something else… After 11 years of Warlock! And then Delves are like… For dudes who’re faster, crazier, hyped up on kentamine! Dread-Pit Tier 5 is fine, but the boss…I’ve never felt so inept (never been with a woman, lol)
So Pug raiding may be my progression, otherwise, If I want to be a viable part of the group, I gotta change. Though my whole group is feeling this, our tank a Demon Hunter since Legion has learned (though Raider IO won’t have Mythic specific dungeon reference right now) that DK’s are top Tanks! We’re all not meta for a change, except our returning guy who decided to come back after a couple years of off and on. He’s got the luck of the draw! A Twin Glaive of Azzinoth dropped (HE FRICKING VENDORED IT!), He’s a Paladin right now so he’s doing mega-deeps! Life… We’ll get through. A patch maybe… who knows.

I love when people make suggestions that make it obvious they didn’t play years ago. Years ago you knew what boss you’d zone into. Want to know what happened? Groups sat around for ages waiting for tanks and healers because nobody wants to join in progress runs. This was back in Mists of Pandaria times. So they changed it.

I love when people come with an overly pretentious attitude.

Tough. Why should myself or anyone else be subjected to a backfill? Punish anyone looking to full clear because you had a selfish entitled player in your group that didn’t get what he wanted off of a boss, so they left, why not just more harshly punish the leaver? You don’t have to like the suggestion but it’s more than anything you’ve brought so far, what is your idea for a fix? Let’s hear it.

Also, I did play back then bud

The irony, it happened to EVERY group. Meaning you could get a fresh run, but you’ll also get stuck on 2nd or last boss waiting forever hoping someone will join so you could finish.

The issue was NOBODY could finish a whole run, even though you entered fresh. So they made it that if you help others finish, then your next queue is fresh to get the ones you missed. It worked well until this terrible change.

Why not just throw out harsher penalties to avoid that altogether? Instead of a 30-minute debuff making them unable to do PVE que’d content… why not have a debuff that doesn’t allow you to group at all, with an increasing penalty for each offense and have them not fall off the account for something like a year… make it all account wide too.

Or here’s an idea, realize it’s a GAME and people have LIVES. Some people have children, pets etc and might have to leave. New players join rather quick. Let people leave as they want, who cares, it was NEVER a problem. Longest I ever waited in a dungeon for someone to join was like 5 minutes. The whole debuff honest isn’t needed

Oh, here comes the FAKEST argument of them all… “What if something happens irl!!”

That’s not what people are doing, people are leaving because it was que’d content and they got or didn’t get what they wanted. The rare occasion where people actually leave for a real reason isn’t a common thing and you know it.

So with your argument we continue to punish everyone for sins of a few, gotta love this community lol.

I actually only ever leave for real life reasons. And that’s at least 3-5 times a week where I think I have time to do something, and something happens. It’s more common then you think. ESPECIALLY parents of babies/small children. Or in my case, I often have to deal with pets throwing up or someone else I live with calling me to do something etc.

In not a single one of my heart-beats, did I believe you leave for “real life” reasons 3-5 times a week. I’ll pretend I do for the sake of argument…

From what I’m seeing, you’re SO unaware of your own time… but still que up for content you know you won’t be able to complete? I feel an escalating punishment would be fantastic for that kind of mentality. If you don’t have time, don’t que for long content… it’s selfish and inconsiderate of others.

Life happens and no one should knock that, but why even bother que’ing if you don’t have or are unsure if you have the time?

So what you want is people like me to quit the game since no time will ever be 100% guaranteed to sit down and do content? I already don’t PvP for this reason. Heck, when I do content like raids with guild group or whatever, they understand when I have to go AFK to take my dog outside or something. In pugs/random queue content, nobody has the patience or wants to wait for a random stranger.

I’ve had to say BRB in my own M+ runs which is why I 99% of the time lead group and use my own key, pugs can either wait or leave. 9/10 times we still finish the key within the timer.

Like I said, not everyone dedicates their life to the game like it’s a job. Stuff happens.
