The answer to bad behavior is for Blizzard (the corporation) to invest in the personnel to handle in-game shenanigans. You can’t automate CMs. There needs to be real people to handle real situations in real-time. Until Blizzard does that, there is nothing that will stop bad behavior except players simply ignoring the bad actor and seeking out players who share your in game goals who are not toxic.

Goes back to the dumb decision of Blizz/Activision to lay off the majority of their CMs and support staff. Can’t worry about customer service if you don’t have any, right?

1. Not everyone is in a country that gives SSNs.
2. I’m not trusting Blizzard with my SSN. They’ve had a few data breaches in the past, and if that included things like people’s SSNs? No thanks. Lmao.

That said, I’m having trouble finding any evidence any Korean Lost Ark servers require SSNs. Every source I can find online says they require a phone number, they verify the phone number with an actual phone call, then if you break rules, your phone number is permanently banned from the game.

If you’re referring to requiring SSN to access the internet - that’s a Korean Government thing, not Lost Ark, as a few posters mentioned before.

I’m still flabbergasted they give us a tiny piece of cardboard when we’re born that we’re expected to keep safe our entire life, but we aren’t allowed to laminate it, and if someone steals it, they can steal our identity.

And the best part is you can only replace it a limited amount of times in your life, and it’s incredibly difficult to replace, and outright impossible for some people.

And you’re doing a fantastic job of contributing to one of those issues.

You’re making a suggestion that targets anybody indiscriminately, meaning, by your own suggestion, this will perma-ban you too. And this wouldn’t even guarantee this “wholesome” WoW experience (which mind you also has trolls or has attitudes that is considered toxic today) anyways. Plus, Video game publishers want all the money they can get, and they are not going to ban people’s SSID for what’s often hearsay.

So with all due respect, I say no, because this is a terrible idea for everybody.

WoW in 2022 is infested with all of these issues, and a simple Mobile authenticator is NOT going to be stopping bad actors from causing dissent within the community.

There NEEDS to be tighter and stricter security measures in place, and SSID allows Blizzard to PERMA-BAN anyone at their choosing from ALL Blizzard-based products + Take Legal Action if they choose to do so.

This will allow for a more pure and wholesome player experience.
