Seriously guys it’s beyond obvious that the rating gates on PvP gear have done nothing other than reduce participation, and now youre going to bust out season 4 with it’s God awful rating requirements for even the offset pieces.
Please for the love of God think about how bad this will be and just bring s4 in line with all the previous seasons. there is no reason for the final PvP season leading into the next expac to be completely dead. 70% of your player base won’t even be able to buy PvP boots if you leave this as is.
It’s a complete no brainer to gain some positive feedback from your customers as well.

I feel the requirements shouldn’t be removed, but could be reduced to a roughly 1200 - 1450 rating requirement. The reason why requirements shouldn’t be removed is the current tier compared to next tier at least ones that Ive looked at personally have pretty minimal stat gains. I’m not the greatest classic pvper myself, however I don’t want handouts for mindless AV grinds or the casual 10 arena games a week mindset. I want to feel I earned the piece and feel my efforts meant something.
You are correct with your concern about pvp participation will be at a all time low with rating requirements being near 1600 for rings for example. I just feel removing it entirely is a bad call.
Why do you “need” boots with +3 stamina if u cant even hit 1700 rating?
pvp is already dead, 10,000 chars on the current arena ladder lmao in the entire NA region. and how many of those are alts?

I hope they don’t use TBC S4 requirements for TBCC. I’m fine with them keeping the same requirements they have had for S1-3, but the participation has been awful each and every season.
As you said, I think the S4 requirements will drive the participation even lower.
It’s nice to get new gear. It’s what keeps people going in MMOs. But if you restrict loot from people, it’s going to be negatively received. 1700 right now is probably top 20% of the arena players, which is kinda insane to think about.

Great plan, lets lower the glad mount cutoff while we are at it. It’s nice to get new mounts right. how does 1000 rating sound

Original tbc started at 1500 rating, in this system the 1850 and 2k rating requirements made sense. Now teams start at 0 and none of the rating requirements were brought in line with that change. Just remove them or give us back the tbc system.

Trolls be trolling. There is zero reason to raiting gate off pieces. This personally does not affect me as my team will have the raiting first week, but I’m concerned with the overalll effect this will have on the majority player Base.

If I don’t have pvp boots on my alt, those are the only ones I can purchase?
Rating gating makes sense for mounts and titles because they are mostly cosmetic and exist primarily for bragging rights and as a kind of trophy to be proud of. Rating gating gear is really kind of dumb as it discourages participation, enables gear discrepancies, and encourages boosting services.
Honestly anyone who takes any great pride in their weapon or shoulders at this point is someone who can barely even hit those ratings and struggles to go anywhere above that. Trying to gate it like its some great achievement really just makes you look like a mediocre player taking pride in being slightly above average among people who care about pvp.

How they handled arena in TBC really shows you how out of touch with the game blizzard is.
There’s really no reason to remove the requirements either since actual pvpers will not be hindered by these requirements in the slightest. The only players hurt by these requirements are the ones who don’t even pvp outside of their chore of 10 games a week. It won’t matter since s4 is the final season of the expansion. Like the poster above said, a pair of boots with an extra 3 stamina isn’t going to make you hit these requirements.
Leave god out of your forum trolling.

People that don’t already have the gear cannot purchase previous seasons offset dummy.
They’ve arguably never really cared about PVP. There was more attention paid in the past but I remember all the raging on Arena Junkies back in the day about Blizzard not lifting a finger for the myriad of bugs and absurd balance issues plaguing arena.
When I’m actually trolling I do. Would you please grace this thread with one of your consistently awful takes while you’re here? Cringe emoji signature too plz.
if it’s like original tbc then the honor vendor and badge vendor will sell the previous seasons offpieces (if you mean belt, bracers, boots etc)
for once blizzard…
make it good? is it actually that hard for them doing their job to make it obviously better?
Is there a list that shows all cost and rating requirements for this coming season? Having a hard time finding one.
The patch notes on all the pages that have archived them seem to say the opposite
seem? I played original tbc and both Badge + honor vendors were selling offpieces. I don’t remember which season offpieces were being sold by the badge vendor but I do remember the honor vendor having previous season offpieces for sale.
