Are you looking for discourse or not? Genuinely confused here. Telling people they don’t have an argument isn’t an argument, and claiming to be the victor doesn’t make you the victor.
The argument being made is that paladin and dks have mount related utility and still can benefit, but we don’t. Keep in mind that I’m mostly referring to ground mounting, as most of the mount equipments are trivial for flying currently.
I should know better than to even try, but since you asked:
DK path of Frost is good for one thing: water walking. It doesn’t shed snares, and can be disrupted by damage.
Pally mounted speed is slightly faster. Divine steed last for a few seconds and has a cool down. once you’ve used both charges you’re running just like anybody else.
Travel form is instant. It sheds snares. If new snares are added, you can just shift again instantly. It can’t be disrupted by damage. It can instant shift into aquatic form for swim speed. A druid can jump right out of the water, or from the land, into flight form. Again instantly. Or if in combat, still shift into travel form which is faster than any mob or player on foot.
But of course you knew all this already. But on top of all that, a drui should be able to use mount equipment and turn travel form into the ultimate form. Far better than any other class’s options.
My argument to you, was that you had no argument. You attacked my position, while actually offering no position of your own. I shouldn’t even have bothered to engage you. But I guess boredom won the day.
Not exactly… we have to constantly shift in and out… which has a global cooldown to shift snares… makes it rather pointless honestly. If you’re getting snare trained in pvp you’re not going to get away, especially if it is a rogue.
Do you know how frigging ANNOYING this auto shift is? Half the time it’s a buggy piece of rubbish that triggers when you enter a puddle and you end up back in normal druid form, or it does something that makes your druid look like it’s having an epileptic fit. We never asked for auto shift. Also swim speed is slower by miles than water walking.
In theory… most of the time it fails though.
It’s no faster than our normal combat cat form if we shift to travel form in combat… and then we have to get out of combat and SHIFT OUT of travel form, before shifting back into travel form to get normal speed
So again, not really any actual advantages. If ours were advantages, then paladins and DKs should still lose theirs if they want mount equipment to work.
Shedding snares isn’t specific to travel form, and being snared puts you in combat. Shifting into travel or aquatic form while in combat reduces it’s movespeed significantly. “Instantly” is hyperbole as well since each shift uses a gcd.
I didn’t know we had this crazy advantage for having 4 specs. People get this idea that druids can just pop into bear form on a whim as feral or balance and play “off tank”, and that’s not a thing. Feral and bear used to be one spec but with two different talent setup builds, so with the overhaul to the talent system, it made sense to split them into separate specs to flush them out. It’s not like bears do competitive damage on par with an actual dps spec, and ferals certainly can’t tank…so not sure.
Ah I see the problem, you think we all have all 4 specs, and feel that this is unfair so druids should be shafted in all other aspects of the game… making it unfun for them to play.
I play feral cat druid ONLY. I’m a single spec druid… and always have been. Travel form has no bearing on the specs we have access to…
Otherwise I could say because paladins can do XYand Z they have no right to mount equipment either.
After all is said and done, Blizz has already addressed the situation and given their answer. We can go round and round about this but at the end of the day it doesn’t look like they agree with you.
Are you crazy? Do you always accuse people of saying things they haven’t said or even come remotely close to?
You can complain about this until you are blue in the face for all I care. The point is that Blizzard is the one that has the final say, not you nor I.
Feedback exists for a reason. “Blizzard did a thing, we don’t like the thing, and we’re not allowed to talk about why we don’t like the thing because Blizzard did the thing.”
Your mode of “why bother talking about it, Blizzard already said something” only serves to derail the conversation. If it’s something that you don’t really care about, you aren’t obligated to be here.
Which is just completely stupid.
I did the grind on two accounts FOR water walking.
The water walker that doesnt walk on water.
Brought to you by the folks who made the boat that doesnt float.
I don’t get the issue. Multiple people have listed the many many advantages Druid travel form has already. People do realize that druids can use standard mounts instead of their travel forms? So they’re not missing out on any mount equipment advantage other classes will have.
So if you think these mount equipment items are the greatest thing then you’re free to use any of your mounts in your collection. But we know that a lot of Druid players won’t be using those mounts. Why? Because they know the benefits of their many travel forms are far and away better then mount equipment.
