I used to play a blood DK in DF before swapping to BRM
I leveled my BDK the other day and even in leveling dungeons 70-80 it’s night and day difference lol.
BRM in comparison is just annoying, the only reason to play it is if you really like monks. It’s like we’re the only tanks playing TWW while others are still in DF.
I’ve done some low m+ healing to get the weeklies done and prot warriors are super easy to heal in comparison to what I’m like as a BRM. Some of the +10s I was watching back when I needed them also had other tanks just chill through pulls that though I could do, it was sweaty

Pwar has so much up-front mitigation. All the tanks do compared to brew, honestly.
Would be a lot better if we had more self healing outside of stupid orbs and a shorter cd on something like dampen harm.

Try BDK at higher tiers. In general its better than brew on trash but several bosses will eat BDK where brew wont be phased.
1st in SV, 1st in Cot and a few others smash BDK.
BDK and Brew are suffering the most from the tank healing changes because they have always taken more damage than the others by default. BDK offset it with self heals and Brew with the smooth and consistent damage intake… but now they need so much outside support its a problem as soon as anyone else needs a heal.
Other tanks are straight up build with M+ in mind.
- They generate more resources like rage in AOE that benefits them defensively.
- They generate more self shielding and do more self healing in AOE.
- Probably the biggest thing is their defensive cds are reduced faster in AOE, sometimes significantly!
Brewmaster has none of this! Below is an overview of the tanks I play. It is a simplification of things but should help draw a picture for those not familiar.
Warrior
- Thunderlord: Reduced CD on Demoralizing Shout scaling with Mob Count.
- Into the Fray: Increased Haste in AOE
- Lightning Strikes + Thorim’s Might: More Rage in AOE.
- Anger Management: rage spent reduces CD on Shield Wall and Avatar
Paladin
- Grand Cursader: More casts of Avenger’s Shield in AOE.
- Bulwark of Order: Gain Obsorbs from Avenger’s Shield scaling with Mob Count.
- Gift of the Golden Val’kyr: Each enemy hit by Avenger’s Shield reduces CD on GoAK.
- Strength In Adversity: Increased Parry in AOE.
Druid
- Blood Frenzy: More rage in AOE.
- Ursoc’s Guidance: Rage spent reduces CD on Guardian of Ursoc.
- Ursoc’s Fury: Obsorbs scaling with Mob Count.
- Elune’s Favor (+ other talents): Increased self healing in AOE.
When it comes to brew blizzard is obsessed with raids. They do not consider m+ at all. 4 years of stagnation while other tanks have improved bit by bit.

I did an lfr on my warrior alt tank and saw a fully decked out brew tank taking more damage then me… its definitely defensive talents there is more in the other tanks then in brew. Its either they give us more stagger % or if they want us to still be the dodge tanks we used to be increase the % amount that mastery gives us.

Speaking of being a squeaky wheel. Someone started a thread about Brew in General Forums: Brewmaster hasn't seen a single update in balance patches. What gives?

Brewmaster desperately needs buffs to at least be middle of the pack. Were so far behind were almost extinct as a spec. Windwalker isnt doing much better than brew as it keeps falling down the charts.
Just because we dont have a youtuber monk main that can whine on x or youtube doesnt mean we should be ignored.
I know blizz sees how badly tuned we are.

Monks need a boost to our defense to match up with other tanks. I gonna stop tanking till we are fixed back to healz cause its the only spec i’ll get an invite for M+ now with pugs. Thanks meta players.

This is the longest stretch I have had an active subscription since Vanilla… a full year and I am very close to done. Tired of wanting to play a class that is either trash or average and if there is ever a hint of it being meta it gets destroyed.
I know it sounds weird but posting outside of the class forum does get more attention

At this point they are actively ignoring Monks

The issue is, brew will never be balanced they way it is designed, it’s either too OP or too weak.
Cot first boss at 12 u live without using any defensive, meanwhile other tanks just die to it without CD.
Large pulls in M+ you can die easily as brew since you run out of stagger clears unless played perfectly like equinox.
Our mastery is horrible. We should remove the Dodge from it and instead just make it so it shields you for a %age of stagger removed by any talents or purifying brew. Make the shield that absorbs stagger like out tier set in DF season 3.
Currently it’s like we have either , living mechanics without CDs or die because u run out of purifying brews. What we need is it make it more predictable
