By now, we all know its underrepresented in M+. Its also one of the harder tanks to play even with the button bloat toned down.
So why is Blizzard just completely ignoring this class? Its hard to get into groups that are 11+ with a Brewmaster because of perceived “meta” classes (which, in this case, everything but Brewmaster and DH is meta, but even then, DH had representation in the MDI)
Zero brewmasters in the MDI.
Zero brewmaster changes for the last several patches.
What will it take to get even a slight acknowledgement from the dev team?

I was gonna start tanking again, but Brewmaster is pretty much the only one I play.
So I just let the idea die lol.

You’ll have to do what I did – reroll and play a different one. Maybe when literally nobody plays the class anymore they might make a change, but even then I doubt it.
Unfortunately for me, I rerolled to VDH and screwed myself twice so just don’t get unlucky like me.

I don’t think there is any easy solution for brew, unfortunately.
Don’t let your dreams just be dreams.

BrM is currently the weakest and squishiest tank in the entire game by far.

Stagger mechanic ain’t doing it’s job then, lol.
Apparently Monks and DH tanks only have two modes- overpowered or underpowered.

Literally just increased the generation of orbs and increased stagger by 5%.
Hell, even a talent or skill that does something as simple as “reduces enemy damage by 10% for 5 seconds” on a 1 minute cool down would be amazing.

Other tanks are straight up build with M+ in mind.
- They generate more resources like rage in AOE that benefits them defensively.
- They generate more self shielding and do more self healing in AOE.
- Probably the biggest thing is their defensive cds are reduced faster in AOE, sometimes significantly!
Brewmaster has none of this! Below is an overview of the tanks I play. It is a simplification of things but should help draw a picture for those not familiar.
Warrior
- Thunderlord: Reduced CD on Demoralizing Shout scaling with Mob Count.
- Into the Fray: Increased Haste in AOE
- Lightning Strikes + Thorim’s Might: More Rage in AOE.
- Anger Management: rage spent reduces CD on Shield Wall and Avatar
Paladin
- Grand Cursader: More casts of Avenger’s Shield in AOE.
- Bulwark of Order: Gain Obsorbs from Avenger’s Shield scaling with Mob Count.
- Gift of the Golden Val’kyr: Each enemy hit by Avenger’s Shield reduces CD on GoAK.
- Strength In Adversity: Increased Parry in AOE.
Druid
- Blood Frenzy: More rage in AOE.
- Ursoc’s Guidance: Rage spent reduces CD on Guardian of Ursoc.
- Ursoc’s Fury: Obsorbs scaling with Mob Count.
- Elune’s Favor (+ other talents): Increased self healing in AOE.
When it comes to brew blizzard is obsessed with raids. They do not consider m+ at all. 4 years of stagnation while other tanks have improved bit by bit.

I think at this point it is obvious Blizzard is understaffed. Shaman healers have been allowed to reign supreme since launch. I’m not saying nerf shamans, other healers should be brough up to their level. Like right now, shamans make up almost 50% of healers in keys +10 and above. That should not be the case.
Also sad for Brewmaster, I’v never played one, but their animations are enjoyable to watch in dungeons.

Tiny little band-aids like this won’t do anything.
Compare Celestial Brew to Ignore Pain. Roughly the same ability, except Celestial Brew has a long cooldown, and Ignore Pain has NO cooldown.
This is why I tear into anybody who’s suggesting the game needs more tank classes. Blizzard can’t even finish design work on the ones they have, now.

Till today I was playing Brew and it’s the first spec I got KSM in TWW.
Made a Blood DK and from the rip I’m immediately more powerful. I can fix so many mistakes using AMS/sleet/the 3 grips we get/ranged kick.
With that said my assessment would be that ‘it depends’. Often you go into a group that has all the utility needed to take care of the affix and you just need to tank and stay alive. But goodness do you feel it when it’s lacking.

Bring brewmaster back to WoD 6.2. Best tank ever.
There have been minor changes to Brew. They adjusted the Harmony tree and tweaked flurry strikes a bit for shado pan.
That being said - I’ve played brew primarily in M+ since legion and this is the by far the weakest state I’ve seen the spec.
Stagger scales with agility though, so as gear and item level bloat, we will scale tremendously as the expansion rolls on. Unfortunately that doesn’t help now.

We need buffs to CB stagger and orbs

Brewmaster desperately needs buffs to at least be middle of the pack. Were so far behind were almost extinct as a spec. Windwalker isnt doing much better than brew as it keeps falling down the charts.
Just because we dont have a youtuber monk main that can whine on x or youtube doesnt mean we should be ignored.
I know blizz sees how badly tuned we are.

this is exactly blizzards sentiment.
