Blizzard needs to delay Shadowlands release to Jan-Feb of 2021

They already gave a release date. There latest post said, " I [UPDATED JULY 24] Time Runs Short: Battle for Azeroth" Does that sound like a release in 2021? They generally post that a month before Prepatch and two months before release.

The pre-patch already being on the PTR is proof they aren’t going to delay release.

I see very few people asking for it to be delayed. You are trying to speak for the masses, but you CAN’T. because you don’t know what the masses want. you can’t know, because you are not them. its like blizzard telling the players that “you don’t want classic servers.” when clearly many did. I started playing classic recently, and i was surprised at just how many people i saw. it was more than i see on live. but i digress.

I am of two opinions about release. on the one hand, BfA is getting old. my guild is no longer raiding and barely doing M+. many are on break until prepatch/release. I really don’t see many people progressing beyond just gear up a bit in preparation for SL.

on the other hand, a part of me does want them to take their time, if it means certain play styles aren’t ignored. such as some play styles they are reimplenting after taking them out. namely 2H frost DK. they need to find a way to make it viable, on par or close to dual wield frost. actually, extend that to making frost spec on par with unholy. period. also, I’d like more time to get the gold for my brutosaur, lol. thats not happening though. i’m no where near enough gold for an extension to help.

but regardless, OP, you shouldn’t be speaking for every one because you don’t know what other people want seeing as you aren’t them and i doubt you can read minds through the computer. and I think there’s still plenty of time for them to fix issues present. heck, some of them are probably already fixed and just waiting to be up on the beta while they fix others in the same build.

they care a lot less about polish now than they do their bottom line. somehow forgetting that blizzard became popular because of polish in the first place.

we can hope but the past two expansions, at least, speak otherwise.

It’s a unique year. People will love and play an unfinished expansion right now because its new content and people are starved for new entertainment after being trapped in quarantine.

Past two… Legion was one of the best and had a near perfect launch. I still miss my Artifact Weapons.

I would much rather be looking for and reporting bugs in the Beta than playing live right now but I haven’t gotten a Beta invite yet.

What I’m reading from your post “I know the word blizzard simp let me repeat this like a broken record”

I do agree with the other poster, you only speak for yourself. To pretend otherwise is silly and deranged of the individual who believes this.

What I recall is the 2 biggest servers went down for a few hours. Me I had a lovely BfA launch.

My BfA collectors edition did not arrive on release date. Gratz that you got yours in time for release.

And I’m not trying to take that away from you, but claiming that because launch went fine for you means that launch was perfect is disingenuous at best.

I think they should delay the expansion as well. The list of bugs with Mistweaver alone is a mile long. Everything will be bugged and broken at this rate. Not okay to release monks broken/bugged again.

Plus! They can’t even get 2hand Windwalker to work. It’s literally doing the same thing as live WW.

Did I say it was perfect?

What I’m saying is for a multi million playerbase game’s launch day to go so smoothly was an amazing feat.

But if you want “perfection” I suppose you could go daydream about it cause I really cannot think of any game that would meet that standard.

Like I was about to suggest breath of the wild, but then recalled all the “and this is how you break the game” videos I’ve recently watched and then I recall that perfection is impossible for man made things.

I would guess they need to release it asap. Players with nothing to do are probably leaving in droves. The idea that horrific visions was going to keep everybody busy maxing out the cloak on all their alts was their apparent strategy for maintaining sub numbers.

Putting out broken game is Blizzard specialty now, just look at warcraft 3 refund, I mean warcraft 3 reforged.

It seems like it needs more time in the oven. I’m actually shocked the prepatch is on the ptr already. It just doesn’t seem ready. It’s close, but not release close. As other have said I could wait a month or two for more polish.

I haven’t read the whole thread, so I apologize if it’s been mentioned, but won’t Blizzard pretty much have to release it this year, because that was what was promised when people pre-purchased SL? And if it’s not out this year, they’ll have to give refunds?

I don’t wanna play more bloody visions. Gimme something new. I don’t care how unpolished it is JUST GIMME SOMETHING NEW
