I have a kinda weird issue blizzard has complety ignored me on. I used the catalyst on a pair of my pants and it gave me a tier set piece but it had the stats and ilvl of a DF piece of gear. I opened a ticket and blizzard told me to open a bug report so they can help someone else with this issue in the future, but they will not be helping me. It isn’t. Huge deal, i have already replaced what the pants would of been, but really? . It just felt like they didn’t care and ignored me.
So - could you atleast outline what the issues are so we can at least try to point you in the right direction?
Or if you’re just venting, maybe edit the post and take it to general.

They dont fix bugs thats a dev thing which is why they told u to post in bug forums.
Well no. They told me to just make a bug report ingame and stated i wouldnt hear anything back from them after. It was werid
And it’ll be up to the devs to investigate, and if found, fix the bug. The devs would also likely consider if it’s worth while retroactively reimbursing affected players or not after the solution is implemented - but that’s never guaranteed.
Until them, the customer service can do very little than what they’ve replied with so far, as in - submitting the bug report.
Thats correct bug reports are a one way street u wont hear back on the bug forums unless they need more info.
So in short opening a ticket doea nothing now of days? Years ago GMs would actually help with issues like this. So i had a pretty bad ingame bug they fully lost me a piece of gear (again not a huge deal because i already replaced it) and they will not do anything to specifically help me? That seems weird to me is all
Gms cant replace loot in this case you got the loot u wanted just not the stats which were wrong they can only do what the developers tell them to do.
I have made the bug report to be clear i wasnt before sorry. But this was months ago. Kinda been ghosted and nothing happend with my issue and they just labled me as “resolved” so i went to formus to just try to figure it out
The ticket to the GM is resolved as they told you to submit a bug report. That is all you can do.
There isn’t going to be a magical fix for you, if it is a bug. Also keep in mind, bugs are triaged and game breaking / connectivity bugs will be prioritised.
So in short. Yes they kinda did ignore my issue and they will not ever fix it if i have it again. Seems fair i guess. Again just trying to figure it out.

Its not about being hung up honestly. Its kinda a principle thing. I had a pretty bad issue at the time and it went unresolved and kinda ignored. Sure its fixed now by me getting gear months later. And again i was just looking to see what people thought and option i might be able to do. Dont be rude please and lets be real. You are telling me you wouldnt be slightly upset that a piece of your tier set you got was useless because of a bug, and it went 100% unresolved? Thats hars for me to believe honestly

You seem to be confusing GM’s and developers. GM’s can not fix this for you.
Id be annoyed but id try again next week for better loot rng is a finicky mistress weather it comes to loot or stats.
Let me try and explain somethings.
Technically, Game Masters could replace loot, but only if they have got permission by the development, which is rare these days. And these sort of actions did have pretty bad consequences towards the game in general, usually in forms of new bugs emerging, and making one problem into a bigger problem. This is why Game Masters can not replace loot.
Now, sometimes, if loot is made incorrect due to a bug, best thing to do is report that bug, and let the QA investigate, so the development then can apply a hotfix, and yes, sometimes, though no guarantee, the development would try and fix up the loot involved in the bug.
GM’s doesn’t deal with bugs, GM’s can’t take in bugs, and GM’s won’t replace items caused by a bug. Only way to get this sorted out, is by placing a bug report, whether in-game or via the bug report forums.
I think I could be wrong on some parts, someone will fully clear it up with the correct information if I got something wrong.
So my question is what was the item and was the ilvl of the item before you used the catalyst?
The Catalyst makes a tier item of the same Ilvl as the gear used. You’ll get your tier using lower end gear, but it will have baseline stats to match.
It seems like you used a piece of leftover gear by accident and, well, you got your tier. Seems like an accident and trust me, making an accident stinks. I made several, but best you can do is use it as a learning experience and move on.
It’s why many vendors provide a ‘are you sure you really want to do this’ dialogue, to let you double check before making a big decision. In regards to the Catalyst, you can see what the end result will be before making the choice to tier it up.
Not true: This goes all the way back to when you chose a quest reward for downing Onyxia in Vanilla. GMs very rarely get involved when players have full agency to do what they wish.
It’s frustrating, I get that, but I don’t think a GM is going to help you with this.
