You are right, the way honor system works once BG is released everyone will gravitate to those since it gives more honor, and the world pvpers who want to rank up in pvp actually have to also compete in BGs vs WPVP, this pretty much kills the WPVP scene for most of us (me included)

it wont also stop anyone from getting ganked by groups of 40 people running around because people who do that don’t even get honor from those kills, you need 200 kill in a raid group to = 1 kill by yourself. So those type of people will still be roaming around and harassing people 40vs1.

Adding BGs does not add more choices for ranking… it removes the existing one and replaces it with another.

You cannot feasibly rank with world PvP once BGs are out.

Majority of players don’t know how Honor system in classic works, can’t blame them its too complicated. So there is a confusion that they believe people running around in 40 man raid zergs are “honor farming”

While in truth the person who is running around solo attacking people 1v1 are honor farming.

/shrug I’m sure there is a minimum rank you can get to before you have to switch.

And for people who aren’t trying to max out ranks, not having BG’s means they have no options.

its not based on how many kills you get or honor you get, its based on your current honor vs the rest of the faction on your server.

So if there is no BGs, you still would rank up if you are on the top 1% of the server (which you need to be if you want to get to rank 14)

Well yes… that wpvp is almost all ganking is another issue for pvp realms.

And you want to force people ranking into only BGs.

If the people do not like world PvP and are asking for BGs to “fix” the game for them, how exactly could world PvP even be considered an option? As you said, they have no options currently, but if they’re only interested in PvP in BGs, then they should just be on a PvE realm.

I get that one option is better for people who only care about maxxing their honor rank.

And as I said I am on a pve realm. But then it seems like a lot of people on pvp realms want BG’s as well…

Of course, and I’m saying anyone who only wants to PvP in BGs should be on a PvE realm.

I’m excited for BGs… after I’m done ranking. I’m just not looking forward to spending 2/3 my day running back and forth across Warsong Gulch to farm rep and honor for rank for my BiS gear.

Yes, actually… I am one of those people, which is why I don’t want BGs to come out so early and greatly diminish the value of world PvP.

I will have absolutely zero time to world PvP once BGs come out, because I will have to be sitting in BGs the whole time instead.

But once you get your rank don’t you go back to wpvp? which you can then do to your hearts content? with no worries about rank at all?

I probably just go back to Feral and only PvP when I get attacked in the open world. Once I have my rank, I have no reason to seek out PvP. If I do, I’d rather do it in a BG where the fights are even.

My issue with BGs is that I hardly consider them PvP. In order to win, you have to do things that aren’t really PvP. AV = kill the boss, WSG = capture the flag, AB = right click a flag.

In all three, the real way to win is not by fighting other people, but by focusing entirely on objectives and minimizing PvP engagements. When ranking, I’ll be flag running and/or tanking Galv.

Once I have my rank, I’d probably just go into a BG and totally ignore objectives in favor of fighting, which is totally at the expense of other people on my team actually trying to win.

I could do world PvP, but there’s no guarantee I won’t get 1v50’d on my realm considering how imbalanced it is, and that isn’t going to change once BGs come out.

Correct. I only care about rank because I’m playing Feral and the Rank 13 gear is BiS.

If the PvP gear weren’t good for raiding, I’d totally ignore it and just world PvP occasionally while on the way to PvE content and such.

But really that’s a you issue because you’ve picked an arbitrary rank you want to hit in the honor system.

SPY is the only addon that needs to be removed 100% makes the PVP in this game no fun when someone can target you from 200m away know all your buffs and when you go stealth is complete nonsense
