Blizzard is making a mistake with an easy solution

Really love BM change that devs say is a loss if you choose . New Talent: Solitary Companion – Your pet damage is increased by 35% and your pet’s size is increased by 10%. Choice node with Animal Companion.

Developers’ notes: Our vision for Beast Mastery’s fantasy is tied to Animal Companion, but for players who would like to opt-in to solo-pet Beast Mastery, this talent should allow you to enjoy that playstyle with only a marginal throughput loss. We’ve taken some initial steps to ensure that this talent doesn’t dramatically increase the throughput of spells like Call of the Wild and we’ll be making changes as necessary if issues arise.

Adding in Spell lock is a good idea yeah. That way you could have a choice on playstyle like with Lone Wolf right now.

My main issue with the hunter changes is just my pet going away though. My hunters worked for their pets and have connections to them. Why can’t the Eagle be my pet? Why is there a random Eagle at all in a “sniper solo” build?

We just had an updated stable with expanded room for more pets and they’re shutting down the use of it on a third of Hunters? They should be leaning more into it and letting MM not have an active pet but instead use their stable in place of the Eagle.

Also I won’t lie I’d rather all utility for all hunters wasn’t on the pet. I want the pet there and to be able to be used but Utility does seem better overall on the Hunter not the pet.

EDIT: I think I’m thinking of the warlock ability that lets you capture your lock pets utility skill thing… is that the Spell Lock or… no its called something else… Bah thats the one I mean though.

It really is the biggest part of the joke about the changes to MM hunter, isnt it?

about as big as 1800 replies in the official feedback thread completely ignoring bm changes to ask for blizzard not to remove mm pets getting no response.

The playstyle of both of these specs is very very different in feel from MM and if you’d played them any amount of time I think you’d know that. I respect that you have an opinion, but we disagree. For me BM and SV are a MOOD not a main kind of spec and clearly a good deal of MM players feel the same.

If you mean subjugate demon it’s only temp and spell lock is the felhunter silence that you are pretty much shafted into using over all the other demons in almost every type of content unless you are a Demonology Warlock and have to use the felguard.

Aside from the pet they are forcing all MM hunters to use, you mean.

There will be no petless spec of hunter if the rework goes through.

Not all players are pure optimists, and there are some number that would pick the choice that fits their flavour better than others.

Raise Dead has entered the chat.

Because it offends those who want to have a pet they have built a connection around, and those who don’t want to deal with any pet at all equally.

It removes existing access.

It’s Lust. You can test this on the PTR right now and see.

MM still has a pet.

I’m not tracking the relevance here.

It’s not an opinion that in most cases, MM players don’t use pets, and BM and SV players do. The playstyle being different doesn’t matter.

I do feel like this’ll largely pass.

as all the hunters who had their pets taken play other classes or quit entirely yeah.

My pets are going to be just fine when I play MM they can go in the shed for a bit.

You speak for you, I speak for me when I say my hunter will be the one sitting in the shed

Great! Often class changes can do that and it’s a natural part of the game.

Grimoire of Sacrifice. Its apparently only a Destro and Affliction Lock thing. Thats the one I meant. Use it a lot on one of my locks cause I get tired to my pet from time to time. >.>

Also I just realized by looking through my locks I apparently skew heavily towards Destro. lol

I would rather MM keep their pet.

I enjoy the single pet fantasy when playing a hunter. I don’t like BM anymore because there are just too many pet summons.

I just want the fantasy of my hunter with their single, lifelong pet friend who’s been through every adventure from the start. Not some… random eagle proc.

Often when classes change it is in a way that meaningfully improves the class rather than arbitrarily limiting choice.
Again, marks is in no way becoming a non pet spec, they’re just losing their pets that they tamed and formed a bond with over 20 years for blizzards choice of a pet. That’s the issue.

Oh yeah that, I hate that you are still forced into summoning a demon to use it, rather them just give us a buff to passive damage buff and survivability buff and again put the spell lock back in the general class tree.

Yeah both those changes I think would help Lock a lot. Their Utility can be so touchy sometimes making sure you have the right thing for the right fight at the right time. -_-

It’s likely they’ll introduce some sort of glyph to satisfy a sort of pet fantasy given the feedback, but they get to use more of their kit now on the PTR.

because people are dumb and fear change.

Even one of those “people” when addressed singular as a person could probably understand this better, but the mob…dumb…
