Blizzard ignoring faction imbalance: Why?

It is absolutely wrong. This is blizzard’s construction, they share the responsibility of imbalance. In fact they doubled down by allowing anyone and everyone to server jump, increasing the imbalance.

nope not suggesting anything, outright stating it.

Oh this should be good, The Retail avatar sporting Blizzard apologist against the Contradictory RP troll. Let’s see if sparks fly or if they hug it out.

The idea of faction queues and free transfers is a terrible solution from almost any standpoint. You want blizzard to punish an entire faction regardless of their reasoning to choose that faction just so things are balanced?

Free faction change for overpopulated to underpopulated faction makes sense. I’d even be alright if incentives were provided such as a free month of game time. But who does Blizzard want to piss off more? The 10,000 players on one faction or the 3,500 on another.

I don’t play classic so I don’t know their transfer rules. Thanks for letting me know though champ. To be fair though if I played on a horde dominated server and I was horde why the hell would I transfer to an alliance stacked server? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

I think the free transfers showed that players don’t like being on the smaller faction on an imbalanced server. One-sided wPvP isn’t fun for either faction (and it’s especially not fun for the smaller faction).

If the factions are close to 50/50, people stay on the server and others transfer in to enjoy the balanced experience.

Boldly stated. Now back it up with actual reasoning rather than your feels.

How would the be “punished”? Having the option to avoid a queue along with all your friends/family is “punishment”? The cringy use of “punishment” sounds dramatic, but it falls flat when faced with horrible conditions for an entire minority faction.

Oh wait, that was included in the proposal…

Nobody whatsoever would be prevented from playing, and playing with their friends and family. If you are truly so pissed off at the thought of pressing a button to transfer, you could wait it out and hope the server pointed at YOUR server would supply enough bodies for the minority faction to even things out. If you chose that, it truly would be a you problem if you had a long wait.

Glad to have you in the classic forum giving your opinion on classic issues.

People would literally just continue to either wait in queue or quit playing.

I know I for a fact would either stop playing or just queue up and go do something and wait.

It would simply cause outrage, more outrage than those complaining about faction imbalance have made to be sure.

It’s really not a feasible option, and all it does is take player choice away from players because other players whined about being camped on a pvp server.

If you don’t want to have to deal with this problem, don’t roll on a PvP server.

World Pvp literally has never been balanced, and probably never will be.

not apologist for anything, just stating facts based on historical precedence that players on PvP servers do NOT want faction balance therefore Blizzard should not work towards that goal.

More like players on the dominant side don’t want faction balance.

If you are in a 5v1 right and are on the larger side why would you want to even out the playing field

I’ve played WoW since it launched. Faction imbalance has always been a problem. It’s been 15 years and it’s unfortunately still a problem. I don’t see any magic fix to all of a sudden fix it lol.

Could it be aliens? It’s aliens!

is it really a problem though ?
It’s a much talked about thing on the forums by a small amount of players but is it really a problem ? Most players are 100% ok with the imbalance and enjoy either being in the dominate faction or the extra difficulty of playing in the lesser faction.

To me it’s not a problem, but it’s vocalized on a daily basis on the forums since the beginning of time. I started on a PVE server then went PVP then back to PVE. I don’t have warmode turned on anymore because I can’t be bothered.

Or they would “literally” talk it over with their friends/family/guild and transfer. If you are the type that would truly quit over it, then sorry, no sympathy.

I doubt that very much. But again, I would have no sympathy and I imagine you would be in the minority.

Balanced servers would be more health servers long term. Better quality gameplay as well. I doubt the “outrage” would really amount to much, unless you were one of those who cannot hack PVP unless on a stacked team.

What choice is being taken away, aside from the choice/desire to be on a stacked faction for an unfair advantage?

What.

There are a handful of servers that are relatively balanced, and the WPVP is quite healthy and enjoyable.

I’m sure you wouldn’t be complaining if your server’s faction imbalance were in your favor.

You basically have no proof this would work besides just saying 'It would totally work guys, we should just force people to change. It’ll work just fine."

Then criticize me saying “No, people wouldn’t be happy with this, and would either not care or stop playing.” as not having proof to back up the claim.

Sure thing bud.

Blizzards never done this before, they aren’t going to do it now.

You never actually cite anything you claim.

So… Your idea is to have blizzard charge people to move from a PvP environment where they have a significant numbers advantage to one where they are a a significant disadvantage? Why would people do this? They aren’t doing it now when it’s free

If there was a faction queue, it would literally be “working” for those who are actually in-game.
You have 2 1-gallon buckets. You fill one up and fill the other up. You allow the tap to continue to run into the one but not the other. The amount of water in the buckets is balanced. THAT is the goal (as close as possible, perhaps a 10% difference between the 2).
The excess water can go into a not full bucket elsewhere, and only has itself to blame if it chooses to simply splatter to the ground.

I swear, the thought of not being able to be on a severely stacked faction truly scares some of you.
