Blizzard End User License Agreement

I just went to login and I am being asking to review the Blizzard End User License Agreement. Why am I being asked? did you change something?

A clause was added signing away your first born to Blizzard. If you lack a child then you have 30 days to find one. Failure to comply will lead to…consequences. :cold_sweat:

Weird, nothing happened for me when I logged in.

There’s no way you’ll get a child in 30 days that way. The paperwork alone will probably take longer than that.

Now the EULA is getting changed?

Where will the line be drawn for all these changes?!

So… you are saying that I can get Blizzard to pay for the rest of my firstborn’s university tuition?

Sign me up, that stuff is expensive.

I didn’t get a prompt to accept a new EULA when I logged in just now (nor recently for that matter).

Usually when there is a new EULA, there’s an MVP over in CS that actually combs through the new and compares it to the old and provides awesome summaries on what specifically has changed.

Last change that I’m aware of was in June of this year:

I play on a US server but like in the UK could be something to do with that?

Play on US and live in Germany and got it too yesterday

It’s been updated with stuff on cheating and toxicity from what I gather. Someone noticed it on EU.

I have been summoned !

Yeah I’ve only just noticed this before heading off to bed. So detailed analysis will have to wait.

The issue I have in analyzing this is it appears to be a new Blizzard Europe EULA. Why it’s appearing for US peeps I don’t know , could be a bug , could be them presenting a new EULA too early ?

The legal section of Blizzard North American site points to the old June 1st update. The legal section on Blizzard Europe’s site points to the new Sept 17th update.

It being a Europe EULA with wording in it geared towards the Europe market means I have no archives of older EULA documents. I only archive US EULA documents.

EDIT : *Bluspacecow nukes post from orbit*

Yeah No.

Blizzard Television Service isn’t new. It’s been effective since October 2020 for the EU market

Nothing to see here folks … nothing to see!

Why are you asking questions, just agree to it

:smiling_imp:

No. It was just something they started a topic on and highlighted the parts I mentioned. Not everyone reads through it all :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve finished my analysis. My gut feeling is , and remains that this being displayed to US players is a bug. The only people I can confirm this new EULA coming up for were people playing outside the usual places a region covers. A guy in Kazakhstan playing on the EU region meaning when it went to display their EULA it’s bugged out and polymorphed a EU EULA into a North American one ('cause that’s a thing)

See if it were a actual new EULA there’s terms in the existing one that state that if a new one comes into effect they must publish it in the legal section of Blizzard’s North American site. Which they have not done for this one. Blizzard Europe has had a EULA update not the North American side. Also the Europe EULA has several sections the US one has split off into separate agreements. These separate agreements are not present in the legal section on the US side.
