They made Classic, let people buy gold, GDKP and more. It doesn’t mean people don’t do it in retail, but it means more money is being pumped into an old game that requires minimal maintenance vs. the newer expansions. Now they keep re-releasing expansions, forcing gold buyers to buy even more gold. They successfully stuck it to the players who spend ungodly amounts of money. Now you have the people who bought gear, crying that they have to spend even more money. They’re literally draining the buyers so much they want to quit. Brilliant.
