Blizzard banned my account of 15 years that was my fathers but he passed in 2014 and has been my account since 2012. They accused me of cheating something of which i have never done, would never do, and i DO think it should be punished. i just need to talk to someone to get this sorted and all i keep getting is automated messages. i will not be quiet about this and its deeply upsetting. I’m willing to work with and provide anything they want//need. IDK what to do. any kind of help would be great…
You’ll need to submit an appeal ticket. You can do this using the support link in the upper right and I think should’ve had instructions on how in your e-mail.
There is no method of appealing other than that. You can submit appeals multiple times, usually 3 or 4, to have different people check things over. At some point they will tell you the decision is final and to stop. There are no automated responses to appeals, and there is no particular information you need to provide - they review their own evidence.
This forum serves as an Information Desk to help folks navigate the Support website and ticket system, explain policies, explain services, etc. There are no GMs here and certainly nobody from the Hacks team who can review a Cheating/Third party software account action.
What you can be told is that the ONLY way to deal with this, is to appeal via ticket. You will get a template answer. Upheld, overturned with an apology, or escalated to a specialist.
Sometimes they do have false positives on their anti-cheat software detection. In those cases they usually go back and run the scans again, then unban anyone accidentally swept up in it. Rare, but it does happen.
You will not be able to speak to anyone person to person or plead a case like in court. That is now how account actions and appeals work with Blizzard.
Eh, when queues are really long they do seem to have an auto responder set up for most categories, including appeals. Not sure what it checks - but it goes off certain keywords or account values. Depending on the category, it is often information on how to use self help tools or game websites like Wowhead - then if they still need help they re-open it and that kicks it into queue again.
Good thing that this isn’t even remotely true. You not liking the answer doesn’t mean the team is automated, and quite frankly saying that is rude and you should be banned just for that. It’s flat disrespectful and uncalled for. Grow up.
I am sorry but Blizzard has never had any options besides appeal tickets.
If you are trying to think through what might have happened there are common things that Blizzard bans for:
- Real money sales/transactions for gold/currency/or in-game services
- Any form of automation including macros outside the game that can macro together skill rotations. This includes keyboard/mouse macros and programs like Autohotkey.
- Having cheating/automation programs running in memory while WoW is running, even if not being used directly with WoW at that time.
- Botting in any way
- Exploiting any bugs/flaws for gain
- Account sharing
- Using anything at all to streamline multiboxing. Hardware or software. It has to be totally manual. Completely.
I am not sure what else to say except that what you want, is not something Blizzard has ever offered. They don’t personally correspond with people over account cheating bans.
For 20 years now everyone has had to appeal the same way. No matter how long we play, how much we pay, or what we say. We are all treated the same way. They go by their logs and only their own logs.
If it turns out to be a false positive they will not only unban you, apologize, and usually offer game time.
You should’ve received an email that explained the category of action taken against your account. You can appeal that, but that requires going through the appeals process as folks have said. For violations along the lines of cheating I wouldn’t expect to get specific details, but all you can do is submit your appeal and they will take a second look, either finding evidence to uphold their action or not find that evidence and reverse it.
This has been reviewed - and upheld, 3 times.
I am going to ask this be sent for further investigation, but I’m honestly not terribly hopeful of an overturn. Only they can overturn this, at this point. That will take some time - sometimes a few days, it varies.
Further appeal tickets aren’t going to produce a different result on this one, only a positive result of a deep dive has any hope of getting this one overturned.
When the results come back, you will be notified by email.
That’s not an issue here, Darth.
Fair enough.
thank you thats all i ask for. i know i did nothing wrong.
Good luck. I had the same thing happen. Another 15+ year old account banned and I have no clue what I did.
An hour prior before this post was made I saw a bunch of banposts on some cheat discords, so I’m inclined to believe the security team on this one.
Coincidences and false positives do happen, but it seems like the security team knew what they were doing yesterday.
This isn’t an issue that happened yesterday. More like 4 weeks ago and he’s been fighting since.
Four weeks ago was another banwave too that hit known bots. Same flood of ban emails posted to shady discords.
That doesn’t make it any better.
Blizzard has been cleaning up their game and arguably isn’t detecting enough still imo.
Do you use a Razer mouse? I just got banned again on a new laptop that I have only downloaded wow and iTunes on. That mouse is the only thing that my computers have in common.
Guess it’s time to give up on this game.
Cleaning up old posts!
I appealed the first ban and it was upheld. Planned on taking my desktop to someone that knows computers and having it reset to make sure nothing is on it that caused the first ban.
Thought I was safe to play on my new laptop. But banned in one day and I’m clueless on why.
I have been using one for almost 15 years. I have never been banned.
