Whatever. That’s RL logic and has no place in a RPG, in my opinion. That’s not just twisted logic, it’s sad in the extreme. If this is the prevailing attitude, it’s no wonder the entire RPG atmosphere of WoW has gone down the tubes.
Your logic sucks. RTVs are also camped by bots.
Blizzard still hasn’t acknowledge that these 2 simple fixes would eliminate all bots as we know it:
People like this should be banned from the game.
I mean can you blame ppl? Not sure if your ratio is correct or not but if it is, and Blizzard is going to be lazy and not track down gold buyers, why wouldn’t ppl do what you said? 3 hours vs 40 hours and no punishment? Kind of a no brainer if you ask me, especially with how bad the economy is now. 19g for a GNPP on my server, it is absurd. It should be ez for them to track down if they watched these GDKP runs, no one in their right mind is spending 10k gold on one item unless they swiped a credit card
Making irrelevant personal attacks because you no argument.
I am one of those kinds of players. I know better than you what they’re like.
The tryhards might sell gold, but they don’t buy it. There’s no reason for them to buy it; they already have it because they actually play the game.
As I said, the only people who buy gold are the people who can’t be asked to earn it for themselves. Who do you think that would be? The people who play all day every day and care a ton about the game, or the people who play 1-2 hours a day and then log out until next raid?
Rhetorical question. No need to answer.
Honestly, I’d rather have the rules enforced and pay more gold to ensure things are fair than have cheaper good buts need to bot to compete in the gold making scene.
Also, while their efforts may in fact drive down the cost of some items, they exorbitantly drive up the prices of others because of their incessant raw gold farming. Examples would be lower level, more easily obtained trade goods.
I don’t really agree with the portrayal of the economy being “ruined.” The economy is what it is, but I would prefer that cheaters get banned like they should.
I am not changing anyones mind so just let you believe that gold buying and selling accounts started one year ago.
Its really hard to gather how much bots hurt the economy. Granted inflation should happen because of gold getting produced but supply seems to out pace demand. Look at arcane crystals when there was a hack to jump to the rich thorium in dme. The price dropped fast. So saying bots increases prices will typically be false since bots will farm easy items more than the rare items. Rare items will be control by the elites on the server who can play all day. Gdkps are still new to me and i see the push to by gold for them. Also i love them since you get to meet alot of good players that would never pug otherwise.
Someone just paid 17k gold for Tiger mount in ZG.
He clearly farmed that much gold by selling 4g righteous orbs and 30g arcane crystals.
Obviously a legit player who made his gold!
To be fair, if you were farming from the start of Classic, you’d easily have well over 17k gold even selling 4g righteous orbs and 30g arcane crystals. And that mount is worth spending big bucks on.
Absolutely, if there is anything I’ve learned about sweaties is that they will find a way to game the system because they won’t be able to hit 2200 rating fairly.
I believe he did this.
there is a mage in my guild who made legit 20k+ doing ZG boosting when it first came out. This was months ago. I’ve seen him spend 400g+ on idol bids np.
I can make 300g a night easy sitting around in SW doing enchants while I watch YouTube or w/e. It’s not a lot but it’s low effort. Can also make decent gold with level 35 alts cranking to make Mooncloth and Cured Rugged Hide.
17k for a tiger is not that unreasonable to me and easy to get legit, esp if you are frugal.
Says the guy who attacked my forum avatar… do you have no shame at all ?
And assumptions now. You have no idea of what kind of player I am yet you assume I’m “lesser” than you.
A shame the ignore function disappeared from this forum, it was handy to get rid of people like you who pollute discussions with nonsense.
I know what I witnessed in game first hand. What you are saying is irrelevant compared to undeniable proof.
I posted a thread last year asking for wow tokens in classic. I was flamed all over the forums for the thread.
The exact things the OP is outlining is why I left classic months ago, and I still contend wow tokens would have curbed this stuff.
It’s a shame because I had such a great time with classic before it became the cesspool it is now.
… because you post on a level 10 retail alt instead of your actual character.
At least you were of some use to me. That option was gone for a long time.
Welcome to my ignore list then, and thanks
The idea that wow tokens would curb RMT is naive. These sellers offer everything from black lotus, to characters, ranking, power leveling and so on and so on. So the player base buys gold from WoW (at a profit) and buys other services from sellers and bots. Genius.
And I REALLY find it repugnant for Blizzard to scam money off its customers selling gold when they could actually just, you know, POLICE THEIR OWN GAME.
No you don’t. If you did, you wouldn’t still be giving them money.
They do, but you aren’t satisfied by anything less than 100% efficacy in removing bots.
