Blizzard allows Bots, Hacking, and RMT. I Quit

Have you played any modern version of WoW recently?

Bots and the problems that have been so bad for classic don’t exist there.

You’re right though. You don’t have any suggestions toward a solution, just righteous indignation and feigned outrage.

Yes the bot problem is ridiculous in retail as well.

And I have given solutions aplenty. In game GM’s have the tools to see every part of the game. They can ban instantly. Currently there are ZERO in game GM’s. None.

If by ridiculous you mean it doesn’t exist, you’re correct.

They should start with the people doing the buying.

On this I agree 100%.

You strike me as the sort of player with the ‘ReTAiL bAD!’ mentality, eschewing hard learned lessons in favor of a particularly classic-esque pure experience to the game, hence your reticence in consideration of wow tokens in classic (not that it matters at all at this point as it won’t be happening.)

Two unfortunate truths exist.

Blizzard has had to save the game from it’s player base multiple times and over time.

That player base is extremely bad for the game.

You’re right, I do think retail is trash. I refuse to touch it. But I also think Blizzard has become lazy and incompetent. I think they’ve done Classic a HUGE disservice, although I’m not surprised. Private servers did a much better job handling bots and hacks. And that says a lot about what Blizzard ISN’T doing.

So you are speaking from a rather unqualified position. Retail doesn’t have a bot problem because it has wow tokens.

Just because classic was super popular for a few months doesn’t mean that their vision for classic ever changed. They let everyone know early on that they intended to be fairly hands off with it. I think it’s largely due to the fact that the player base is largely just a bunch of scumbags and they knew what a headache this would be.

This particular tidbit is irrelevant. The entire discussion is in it’s entirety since classic is coming to the end of it’s pathetic life span. It’s saddening because it was a great time for a good while.

I can only go on what I’ve been told. You can go to the general forums and do a search on bots. Seems there may be a problem.

Blizzard appears to be AWOL on the issue of bots and cheats and the like. But they’ve hardly been hands off in other areas.

Before Classic launched there were tons of changes in the works:

  1. Gear comparison
  2. Turning add ons off or on ingame
  3. leave the flightpath early
  4. Shifting characters on the character list
  5. Sending more than one item in the mail
  6. “show number on cooldown” on the Action Bar list
  7. Auto looting
  8. Raid loot sharing
  9. Unlock/move character portrait
  10. changed menu appearance (away from the parchment style)
  11. various alterations to Paladins
  12. Voice chat
  13. Changes in the release timing of content

This doesn’t include layering and Vanilla unlike pops.

They made several changes to AV and WSG. They buffed neutral guards, changed the inferno WL summon, overworked spellbatching/leeway, raid loot sharing, and on and on and on. Blizzard has changed the way some gear and items work.

Too many changes to list, actually.

Wow, that’s a lot of misinformation.

There is no point in having an argument with someone in bad faith. Intellectual dishonesty does nothing to address any actual issues plaguing classic.

can i have your stuff

they should just take the gold back. when someone gets banned for botting or for real money rading they should ban the person who sells the gold and the person who does the botting or exploits then just take the gold away. or give them negative gold.

Original world firsters from vanilla later admitted to resorting to gold buying to keep up the pace. With all that time spent wiping, when do you think they were they actually making their gold?

I guarantee you it won’t be different now. GDKP to buy up equipment for alts as they shift raid comps, lotuses since all of them are botted anyway, arcanes/arcanite…There’s plenty of reason to buy gold and quite frankly, depending on your job, you’ll make more gold by working for an hour and paying than you will in 40 hours of actual gameplay. If you’re farming for real, you’re falling behind.

We’re not talking about original world firsters, but are you suggesting they all did this, or did a handful of them who didn’t actually play the game much have to buy gold to keep up?

I didn’t know many people with tens of thousands of gold in vanilla and several bank alts full of raid consumes for all future content (including TBC).

Knowledge is really powerful when it comes to preparation. Knowing what potions are necessary has made it incredibly easy for top tier raiders to stock up on supplies well before there is any mainstream demand for them. In addition to having a magnificent personal supply, you can sell surplus for massive profits.

I guarantee you it will be different.

LOL ummm Blizzard banned multiboxing in large part because of the boomkin bots farming endlessly in retail.

Bodicca’s post?

Honestly, do you really think Blizzard is unaware of the bots or the damage they cause? That is a question to all the people defending them. They are allowed to do it because it benefits Blizzard. If this was not the case, they would have active GM’s banning them 24/7. It was getting really bad on classic in the last few months, but look at some popular streamers posting videos on youtube for retail about bots. He goes to the zone in and there are hundreds zoning in and out constantly with the same classes/gear/mounts. This has become Runescape.

Same way I feel about republicans and democrats.

Might be they are to stupid or incompetent to actually ban the botters…lol

Still not addressed.

Your White Knighting is getting really tiresome!
