Blizz just sent out a survey about TBC

Where is mine?

I definitely think if they do this they should allow the option to keep your character on classic but copy it to a BC server.

I would play them all
The toon i progressed to TBC, would get replaced with a new toon in classic.
When the original toon moves on to wrath, id send the next toon over to tbc and begin another classic toon.

Why? because i like levels 1 to 60 in the vanilla era, before the better itemization and optimizing.

So i would always have some toon in classic.
I dont min/max and try to speed through stuff, so there would still be stuff for me to do in classic for a very long time.

Majority of the classic population is from wow classic private servers. I would assume blizzard knows this and if they don’t, well they will find out the minor populous compared to the private servers that have rallied for vanilla all these years will leave and all that will be left with is a maybe a server full of ppl who want to play classic TBC.

got a source to back this up?

it was on a youtube by blizz when they talked around 8,000 are from or have been from the private servers and the wow classic private server people are in fact the reason classic happened. They had been pushing for years before. Go find it if you like.

they are the reason classic happened. that doesn’t mean they make up the majority of the population of classic. do not conflate the two. 8k is not a lot of people, especially considering server sizes. you’re gonna need an actual source from blizzard saying “the majority of people playing classic came from private servers”.

Just saw this, and yep - there it was. Ty!

Don’t know why you or anyone would’ve thought differently. They announced long ago what their plans were and emphasized a small team. They would have to hire a new art team and fill many other positions to do something more.

Oh so this is why the forums is hot about Classic TBC. Yup. It’s coming. Just hope they do stand alone servers. Leave classic as is.

That would be an excellent point had the survey asked, “Do you want Burning Crusade? 1. Yes. 2. No.”
It asked, instead, “Which of these four forms do you want separate Burning Crusade servers in?”

Does that prove anything? No. But if I was one of the “it will hurt my soul if Burning Crusade servers ever come out” people, I would be feeling super unoptimistic right now.

at this rate we will have BFA classic in a few years. Honestly this is getting a little silly. If this goes forward i hope they stop at wotlk. Any further and it just seems like a complete waist of resources that could be used on the retail version of wow.

In all honestly based on how classic went and how everyone complained about certain aspects such as population balance between the 2 factions and a various amounts of other issues like frost mages and blah blah blah this and blah blah that and #nochanges i rly dont see the point of TBC cause it will be hype for the first month…and then people will start screaming and crying because of this class being broken or that faction being too populated.

People asked for the authentic classic experience and that is what they got and most complained and wanted changes. If blizzard learned anything from classic its no matter what they do people will complain because hey…nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

I dont see the point of releasing a classic version of TBC because blizzard tried it with vanilla wow and most people demanded changes. So why bother giving people a classic version of something if its simply going to lead to a bunch of demands and complaints? Sounds like a waist of resources to me.

If you want a classic version of something…then expect the good parts and the bad parts or just stick to retail wow. Thats pretty much what i think. You cant just have the good stuff. Every expansion had its perks and its negatives. Deal with it.

This is the wrong forum on which to expect that to carry any weight. The “retail version” of WoW is a complete waste of resources.

You’re also treating the forums as way more representative than they’ve ever been. Most people here represent the most inclined-to-complain 1% of the playerbase.

The survey itself might be meaningless. But the survey caused something. It caused this forum to be flooded with posts about Classic and TBC, with players expressing their opinions AND their ideas. What better feedback could a game company get?

We already had some threads about this, but now we have many more – without all the “it will never happen” comments (by people like me :unamused:).

I see, so using resources to re release an expansion that came out 13 years ago is not a waist but instead spending those resources on the current retail version of wow is ?

I’m sorry but after reading what you dribbled there i simply cannot go further and have any form of discussion with you seeing as it would be a complete waist of my time. However , I will at least thank you for your response , even if it was your basic response that shows no effort or thought process used…just like bosses in classic wow lol…no thought process required to kill.

How any person can think that using resources on the current state of a game is a waist compared to using it on a version of the game that was released 13 years ago is just…its just amazing lol.

Also thanks for letting me know that any form of common sense here will be met with a swift uneducated response such as what you have given. But hey im not here to bash on classic wow, I am simply here to express my opinion but when i see a response like yours i simply cannot help myself but wonder if you are serious or just trolling. I hope you are trolling cause if you are serious…yikes.

Thanks for the laugh though.

van 2.0 would be better than bc, hope we get that instead. See some of the zones in classic they were going to come out with like mount hyjal or uldman

I feel like Vanilla, BC and WotLK servers would all do extremely well.

Of course it ends at WotLK because well, look what happened :joy:

Since the 13-year-old expansion is good and the current retail version of WoW is utter garbage, yes. Believe it or not, the fact that Monopoly was invented later than chess doesn’t mean you would get consensus that Monopoly is clearly the superior game.

Feel free to write five more paragraphs about how you’re not engaging with me. Or alternatively, look up the term “appeal to novelty fallacy.” Or just actually not engage with people on the forum for this (fun) game and go back to Modern, since that game has something–if only not being old–that makes you think it worth playing.

uhuh, well you keep telling yourself that. Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy.

Copy - but dont allow gold to copy. I say this because smart people will realize they can send all their gold to one toon - copy it over, transfer the gold to an alt (since its a copy the gold will still exist on classic) and continue the process over and over again. This will inflate the market massively and cause issues.
