Lol we’re still friends on my friends list but I’ll add you just to make sure. What’s the best thing for me to do, level an alliance, or like, try to merc mode in with you all?
edit because it won’t let me post twice in a row in my own thread, blizzard this is a horrible forum feature lol:
f) Oh yea, am I missing out on a ton if I’m not capped + doing all the weekly things this week? I read that there’s a free piece of 450 gear or something, but does that matter for PvP at all? I’ll probably hit 60 today and hopefully get to 70 this weekend some time.
g) Once I hit cap I just do BGs for honor gear and get the weekly solo queue cap for conquest, and hope that the horrible dumb vault thing gives me something good?
h) Can I get a friend to craft me the PvP talent gear, or is that something I have to PvE for?
You can merc with us like 90% of the time. Sometimes the merc buff npc isn’t up. But we often have a merc group so I wouldn’t lvl an alliance just for us
I think you just miss out on half a spark if you don’t do the quest for it this week, but in the long run you really aren’t gonna be like way behind. The embellishments and free 450 piece are nice, but you can just get it next week without any problems. At the worst you’d be a week behind on sparks but there will also be catch up for sparks later so that doesn’t even really matter I don’t think. Plus after your first two crafted pieces you will be limited by conquest points for making more anyway.
You will want to do one of the weekly PvP quests where you earn 1500 honor in one of the PvP modes, there will be 2 to choose from at random each week from arenas, solo shuffle, RBGs, epics or regular randoms. Maybe skirmishes too? I don’t remember lol. Anyway, doing that weekly will give you your weekly half spark, you won’t need to PvE for that. Other than that yeah, it’s just getting your honor set next week and then capping conquest/vault which you can do really easily in solo shuffle.
Most PvPers don’t care about the PvE item level on their gear since the conquest mat will make it scale to 450 in PvP, so you can just make a public crafting order with the mats and a small tip and someone will make it for you without any other interaction needed. It will just show up in your mailbox. You also don’t have to PvE for any of the mats, they are either on the AH (maybe a bit expensive right now) or come from PvP.
I think Blizzard is doing A:B testing or something, giving some people 14 day free trials, some 7, some 3, and some none. D: For sure check your accounts on the gift tab on the launcher, they are apparently coming out over a couple of days.
Mine was like, “you have 10 days to use this free trial” and I heard the 7 days free trials are like, “you can use it any time this month” but I haven’t looked into it too hard.
Blizzard did something kinda similar for Hearthstone a few months ago.
Some former Hearthstone players got an email saying, “Please come back to Hearthstone. Here are free <X> packs of cards to help you catch up.”
X was different numbers. Sometimes, it was 75. Other times, it was 150. There were other amounts too. Some business/research department in Blizzard was testing how many free packs were needed.
There was speculation that the players who received such emails had purchased a certain amount of Hearthstone cards in the past. So, Blizzard was trying to lure them back.
They might be doing something similar for WoW. Contact former active WoW players and see how many free days are needed to lure people back.
omg I wonder why Blizzard is sending out surveys, it’s for all games / events / merchandise / services? I wonder if they’re trying to do something for Blizzcon? The merchandise and services part is interesting.
Maybe their player numbers aren’t looking good, so their business/research department is getting more info. Someone is telling them to figure out why people aren’t playing.
Wow you’d think they’d like, at least give you a free battle pet or something for doing the survey. D:
I hit 60 on my warlock and they say they’re banking all the xp I get until I buy dragonflight, so idk what to even do now. Maybe I should just farm to 15k honor, or work on alts? I’m not sure I trust blizzard enough to bank all the exp I get if I spend the weekend spamming timewalking dungeons to get to 70 lol.
@Demoniclily I am trying to tag you to see if you can answer me these questions three. But no worries if you don’t have time / this tagging thing doesn’t work.
The base gameplay of demonology is kind of fun. You cast shadowbolt and demon bolt for points, and you spend points summoning demond dogs and imps. It feels like someone at blizzard played necromancer in GW1 but didn’t entirely duplicate it, so it’s more focused but not quite as satisfying.
What I was playing had 2 dots to keep track of and like 3 procs so it was kind of a lot, but I’m assuming with a solid weak aura it would be a lot easier. But I did want to ask: do I have to worry about a priest or shaman offensively dispelling the instant demon bolt / instant demon dog summon?
Is there like, a counter for how many demons I have out? Or should I just use weak auras / tell me when? And are there any other small little auras that I should pay special attention to?
Is there like, a guide to which end talents are best in which situations? I kind of look at them all and think “yep. that sure does more damage.” There’s got to be obvious stuff that I’m missing since I’ve been a healer forever and ever.
You might want to tag the warlock person (via Reply or Quote) to get their attention. They’re probably not following this thread and reading new posts.
I’ve thought about it. Maybe there’s a good reason why Blizzard did that.
If they gave a free battle pet (or whatever) for completing the survey, more people would participate, but they might just rush through the questions to get the reward. Like, click click click, bla bla bla, next next next, to finish the survey ASAP.
If there’s no reward, only people who want to give real answers will participate.
