Blizz employees are hugging and crying in the parking lot right now

I doubt any game developer would be touched aswell, mainly support staff are probably getting cut. They’ve been trying to get support staff out for years now.

My heart  goes out to all those that could be part of the layoffs.I hate to see anybody lose their job.

Redefined them for the worse perhaps. Who wants to play a game where you can’t play how you want and get punished on a whim if you don’t play who and how other players tell you to? And no single player content? All those unique characters and their abilities could make for a great campaign mode with levels built around them for a varied and fun experience.

Overwatch is just a lame team shooter that tries to cater to the tumbler crowd.

You are replying to me and no I don’t need to look at myself.

I have been around over 60 years and in that time I know what I consider real hardship and losing a job does not qualify in my opinion. Until you have walked in my shoes, I suggest you don’t judge me.

No it didn’t. There were still many MANY other competitive shooters that were doing extremely well. Blizzard released a good competitive shooter, but it sure didn’t redefine the genre.

It is crazy to even try and compare it to what WoW did for the MMO genre. It brought the entire genre from niche to mainstream.

Me too, tomorrow I finally get to order my new computer… and now I’m sad. I was going to stop playing until pf 2 but I’m not going to drop sub now. I want a wow to come back to.
I need a hug too.

You can’t possibly believe that BfA alone did so bad it ruined Blizzards financials. WoW isn’t even the top money maker any more and the company has multiple franchises.

But we are talking about competitive shooters.

Campaign modes mean nothing to competitive shooters.

Being competitive means, not playing just how you want. It never meant that. Ever. In a team based game you played as a team. Not “how you want”.

What’s disappointing to me is that you’ve been on this earth that long and haven’t come to realize that other people suffer hardship when they lose their job. It’s like you’re unable and unwilling to empathize or realize that other people have different experiences.

Losing a job is a hardship to some people and it can be scary. Why do you think they’re crying?

You’ve been around for 60 years, but they haven’t. They don’t know if things will turn out ok.

‘According to a person there’. Top notch reporting from a 3rd rate ‘news’ source. Stop trying to get your jollies off at the perceived misfortune of others. Go find a Blizzard video on youtube to down vote.

Not to mention Hearthstone popularized the online CCG.

Just stop. Inconvenience and hardship are two different things. Just be grateful you don’t know what real hardship is.

I’m sure those people in work camps in North Korea know worse hardship than you. So if we’re going to play the “Someone else has it worse” game then you may as well stop too.

WoW is one of the bright spots on Activision-Blizz.

They are not losing their jobs due to BFA

Except that WoW hasn’t lost them money.

I’d say losing a job can be a big hardship today. Cost of living is so much higher today than in the past (esp compared to how much you make), that going any period without one can be much more disastrous.

This misinformation really needs to stop: BFA pre-sales, and marketing campaigns to bring back unsubs has been consistent with previous campaigns. I wish I had the time to find and link you all the article I read with screenshots of previous x-pacs, but BFA has not been “hyped” anymore than any other prior x-pac.

“We” need to make an effort to not play so fast and loose with the facts.

‘just stop’…rude.

Must be wonderful to know exactly what other people have gone through.
At 60 you’ve yet to learn wisdom.
