Blizz employees are hugging and crying in the parking lot right now

As they brace for today’s layoffs, Blizzard employees are crying and hugging in the parking lot, according to a person there. Still no official word from the company, but people in publishing and esports are expecting big cuts. Earnings is at 5pm ET - news should be around then.

Bummer.

Isn’t is shocking how bad BFA turned out?

This post is a little cold hearted. You shouldn’t enjoy people losing their jobs just because you didn’t like the video game they put out.

What do publishing and esports have to do with BfA?

Totally different departments.

This isn’t all on BFA, they have been doing bad in several of their product lines. Some of them are being completely shut down in the near future.

Mhmm. You need to take a long look at yourself.

Of course it isn’t ALL on BFA but since this is the WoW forum that’s what we’re talking about.

I would imagine its the esports team from Heroes and the PR and Support teams from Destiny

How did he imply he enjoyed any part of it? Is stating current events inherently gleeful?

Was it just changed? What it say’s now is a direct quote from the tweet. Not the OP’s words.

That doesn’t mean you act like the entire failure is with one product line. WoW is probably still their most profitable one. It might not be the gold mine it was in the past but it’s not the sole source of their woes either. So be fair about the discussion.

You mean BfA that sold a record amount of day 1 and preorder units and offset the decrease in performance from their other games? Seriously people.

Truly disappointing.

Yep, that’s the one.

U mean bfa that lied to everyone? And subs dropped fast

Lied? You are going to have to expand on that a bit.

My heart goes out to employees right now… While layoffs/terminations happen, simply stringing people along isn’t the right way to do things. But then Blizzard has proven time and time again in recent years it isn’t about the game, it is about the money. Sad that their employees are the cannon fodder of their ideas.

“I don’t like XYZ in the newest WoW xpac so it is responsible for projected e-sports and publishing layoffs”.
-Totally logical forum posters.
