Blacksmithing crafting orders absurdly expensive by comparison

The mat cost for blacksmithing is disproportionately expensive and need to be brought down on par with tailoring. My main and primary alt are both blacksmiths, but they are farther behind than my tailor/enchanter alt because there are too many recipes that require me to provide many a lot of sanctified alloy (and charged or ironclaw alloy on top of it). I’m glad that the NPC epic crafting orders are there, but the cost to craft them needs to be brought WAY down. The first craft bonuses for crafting epic gear are nice to have, but I skip a lot of the epic blacksmithing NPC crafting orders due to the sheer cost of the alloys needed to craft them. I do a lot more epic tailoring NPC crafting orders because the cost to craft them is way lower.

You only get the workorder points if you complete the work orders, which if they’re all expensive epic weapons with multiple expensive mats involved, is going to make those free points more painful.

And there is no catchup mechanism for crafting professions like there is gathering.

So, as I thought, the answer is “no” at least some of the people complaining are not getting the free points every week.

le sigh

Did I like the idea of them providing a way to gain experience points on a regular basis? Yes I did, good idea.

Did I like the fact that I have to pay (either directly by buying the materials or in time gathering them) in order to gain those points? Not particularly.

I would have preferred it if the game provided all the mats but there were say just 5 per week. Then at least it would have given a bit of an extra boost without it being a basically paid boost to the craft.

He’s telling you that the work orders are also a weekly source of KP before catch-ups, not just the dirt, so you can’t just collect the dirt and not have to do any patron orders. He never said he doesn’t do both.

Catch-up?

To whom?

Still waiting on your imagination to cop up those free santified alloys. Chop chop.

Like I said: Don’t do them if they’re too expensive.

Still waiting for you to grasp that.

But you said they’re all free how can they be expensive.

Can you quote where I said that?

Yep. 10char.

Progress in the professions is free. You can get exactly where you need to be from the free pick-ups in the world and the All work orders.

Which is how you’ve done LW correct.

Did leatherworking. I don’t even bother with it anymore. I was able to make everything people wanted, the first month.

Sure you could kid. Try not to eat all the crayons. o/

Making things for people is different from obsessively needing to fill in every bubble in the tree. Most knowledge points that would be spent that way are never actually used. Nobody has ever asked me for a leather helmet, chest, or legs, for example, and never will. People don’t want crafted pieces in those slots because those are tier set slots and crafted gear can’t catalyst.

Crafting professions only have 2 world pick-ups a week, IMX.

And the point is the work orders are not free, and are overly expensive for BS.

If you read the thread you’d have some idea of how off topic you are. :smile_cat:

The only way you could say this is if you haven’t read any of my posts which, fair. Enjoy life on your own terms my dude.

Some of us run sims, and I made myself a leather helm yesterday using the knowledge points on my LW that were far cheaper than the ones I used to make weapons via my BS.

Sanctified Alloys are the primary culprit where they need Null Stones and Profaned Tinderboxes.

Was alot worse at the start where 1 Sanctified Alloy could cost you 5k+ gold.
