Ashkandi is objectively worse than OEB for 2h fury as horde. You are crying over not being awarded a PVP weapon for a PVE spec. Do some more research, work on your entitlement, and then maybe you’ll find a guild that works for you.
We give our Ashkandi to hunters before warriors, but our hunters min/max and melee weave.
If this was your first raid, I see why loot council wouldn’t give it to you regardless over a core that’s been there a long time. If it was some literal trash that people were just like, “Yeah, I guess I’ll roll on it,” they would give it up. We’re pretty considerate on that front, but if someone actually wanted it, well, it’ll drop again.
We’re so scarce on weapons in general in our guild (join us if you want a Rejuv Gem or a Nelth Tear, lmao), that it has to be a super suboptimal thing to give away to someone that just joined. We sometimes do our 45m-1h BWL clear with less than 40 minutes, and carrying a new raider will get dumped with tier and random non-BiS, but anything remotely good or wanted would definitely go to a core if they wanted until you were established.
Because in 2 weeks when you quit because you didn’t get the first DFT over the guy who has 95% raid attendance you won’t be taking a gear that could have otherwise been used by the guild.
If you freak out over a two handed weapon as a warrior there is something wrong. It scream “Inevitable furture loot drama from the new guy”. If I was them I would have kicked you even if you didn’t quit for making a stink about something so trivial.
Self entitlement doesn’t mean you deserve anything.
You want outside justification for being a loot-drama queen…you are probably not going to get much here. Especially because you initially went to the server to break brackets. Which is a scummy move anyway.
Edit: post script
Btw, I’m sure you wanting the 2h sword had absolutley nothing to do with you transferring to DD to rank…what a load of crap.
The biggest take away from this.
Stop using rend.
To answer your question at the very end of your original post, I would have done the following in this situation:
-
I would have at least shown up with proper enchants, consumes, and world buffs to show my new guild that I was serious about raiding.
-
I would have kept my mouth shut and my eyes and ears open so that I did not give my new guild the impression that I was a douchebag.
-
I would not have expected ANY LOOT on my very first raid with my NEW guild. Instead I would have been happy that they had invited me to the raid in the first place.
-
I would not have thrown a hissy fit and then rage /gquit because I didn’t get a shiny purple item that comes off the very last boss in BWL. In fact I would have broken rule number 2 and congratulated the person who did get the Ashkandi and told him that I hoped to get it myself one day.
When you join a new guild as a trial raider that is your time to make a lasting impression on your new guild mates. Go in and show them that even though you don’t have the best gear you do know mechanics and class.
As a member of a LC guild on Skeram, I can tell you with 99.99999% certainty that you would not have gotten any loot off of Nef on your first raid. For crying out loud, we’ve cleared BWL every week since it came out and haven’t even sniffed an Ashkandi much less had one drop. For you to think that you can go into your first raid, underperform, and then act like you’re entitled to it speaks volumes about you. You throwing a tantrum and rage quitting the guild only confirms what an entitled person you are and that guild is far better off without you.
PS: Don’t ask the question if you don’t want to know the answer.
This is a fair and valid point.
You have a 27% BEST avg for parses within your ilvl bracket. You are terrible, I wouldn’t have given you anything either.
LOL! I remember that now, he made an almost identical thread where he was complaining about not getting loot on his first raid that got like 1000 replies about his pally a few months ago
From the sound of things, the problem is that you expected a high profile pvp item on your first night with a raid you joined less than a day ago, and when you didn’t get it, proved exactly why the guild has the system they have in place. I.e to prevent entitled people from joining, getting good/high profile loot, not getting what they want one raid, and leaving after getting loot.
The problem is not with the guild or raid team, my friend.
The fact that you got so upset over a single item in your FIRST raid with this guild tells me that you are telling a very one-sided version of the story.
You are very likely leaving out essential details such as the way you reacted, your tone, the things you said, etc. At the end of the day, you CHOSE to leave the guild instead of giving yourself the opportunity to build a reputation with the guild and earn loot in the future.
It doesn’t sound like you gave this guild any benefit of the doubt whatsoever - you just went in assuming that it would be free Nefarian loot and you shouldn’t have to compete with anyone for it for any reason.
Does that sound correct?
Also, aren’t you trying to discredit them by exaggerating on how many times they wiped and how much they struggled? Or do you feel that they ‘owe’ you something for ‘wasting’ your time? Didn’t you choose to leave a large realm for a smaller realm, without expecting these sort of things beforehand?
He had left his large realm because of incidents almost identical to this. His attitude ostracizing himself from the whole server to the point he transferred. Where he then repeated the exact same things.
He was new. If it was DKP he still would not have got it since it was his first raid.
Right?
Well, it’s an RP-PvP Server. There’s only one Classic Normal RP Server, and that’s Bloodsail Buccaneers
Isn’t this like the 4th or 5th time you’ve written a story about how you’ve ruined your reputation?
To answer the OP’s question:
I would’ve congratulated the guild member and continued playing this “15 Year Old Game” with the Guild giving me a chance, even if I don’t have proper gear, taking me to Raids with them and carrying me ;p
Nah, that’s dumb and if you’re guild does this, it’s probably run by egomanic narcissists who like to hold things over their members heads. If anything new players should be treated with respect the moment they enter the guild. You’re not going to keep a healthy roster if you treat new players this way.
In this case, OP, shouldn’t necessarily have been given ashkandi, because he’s alliance and it’s not ideal upgrade for pve. The entire purpose of loot council is to make sure your raiders are getting upgrades. It’s not to make sure your raiders have 50 sets of gear to screw around with. It literally doesn’t matter that he’s the new guy or not. IF it was a legit upgrade for him and nobody else he should get it.
If OP feels he was wronged he’s entirely in his right to leave the guild, and it’s simply out of line for that guild to make up lies about OP in trade chat. OP did over react to the loot decision, but how the guild treated him afterwards was entirely unnecessary.
You first mistake was joining a guild with loot council. Also, to the people that say he shouldn’t expect gear, that is a selfish way of seeing it. When we recruit, we do PUG MC runs, and let the newbies roll on the gear, even if it is a BIS. Why? Because a little generosity goes a long way. This guild is garbage. Not to mention, there is no reason to bad mouth someone just because they gquit. That is petty and childish. He went on 1 raid with them to try the guild out, was not happy and chose to leave. There is nothing wrong with that.
If it is a recruit in a BWL run, we have a reserve system they can put their name on. If there is others with higher reserves they get it. But at least the new player knows where they stand, and a lot of the time, we have geared players that will say throw it to the new guy I will take the next one.
IMO as a recruit asking about loot rules before joining a guild is a good idea. And as a guild recruiter, I have to say I always explain them - even if not asked directly. If there’s a moral to this story its that “good communication every day helps keep the drama away”.
With certain people, no amount of communication will keep the drama away
I see the entire purpose of Loot Council is to be improving the raid while rewarding players for their investment in the guild.
Getting an upgrade is not the same as improving the raid. I mean having a fresh 60 join the raid and take away an upgrade from a core raider just because it is a larger upgrade for the individual in most cases is not an upgrade for the raid.
LCs job is not to provide the best upgrades to players, it’s to manage loot in a way that provides the largest benefit to the guild.
You’re not going to keep a healthy roster if you’re giving away top tier loot to new raiders over core members who have a significant amount invested in the guild.
You know how many whiny warlocks I’ve seen show up to raids in greens/blues, get decked out in full tier 2 with bwl weapons in two weeks then cry when a mage who hasn’t had loot in two months finally gets a tear?
Performance, Attitude , Attendance are how a LC should determine loot. Loot focused individuals will always have a problem thinking beyond themselves.
