Okay? But the guy wasn’t going to rank, he was just going to “screw around in pvp” so it might get used seldom or never.
No he is going to rank if you were in the guild over 12 hours you would know that
Based on OPs track record, that means the guy was probably going to rank.
Deviate Delight is a great community server. It’s medium population, large enough to support all activities, but small enough where we get a good feel for most of the guilds.
Honestly, I don’t care for anyone coming to an RP-PvP server to not contribute to the RP community and only came to try and take advantage of PvP ranking.
You sound very loot hungry too. I don’t really care if they are helping to spread your bad reputation to the other guilds. You really don’t belong on the server.
Vetting people is hard.
Aren’t you the guy that transferred to Netherwind a long time ago and got flamed for the exact same crap because you were a bad player demanding loot the first time raiding with a new guild? I am pretty sure you are. Same ret pally and horde shaman. Why did you think you would be any better at fotm warrior when you could barely play auto attack simulator?
Then when all the massive guilds on Netherwind bailed you followed half of them to DD.
And that’s fine if the guy was genuinely going to use it to rank. I was more commenting on the general policy of not giving new recruits loot just because herp derp new recruit.
Ashkandi is a PVP weapon Alliance side and a hunter weapon.
It is a pretty big PVP weapon that doesn’t drop often. I would certainly never give it to a trial/recruit who shows up in blues this late into Classic WoW.
I also would never play for a guild like the one you are describing. I might do AQ or ZG with them in a pinch…but probably never any raid content beyond that.
The guild’s behavior after you left is pretty poor based on your accounting of the situation. I don’t know that I would have even asked for the item to be honest…
In lieu of all the wiping, I’d have just messaged an officer or recruiter a day or two later and told them you were moving on to play elsewhere (potentially with friends).
Instead, you applied for Askhandi on an undergeared char…got denied…then came to the WoW forums (a place with even more visibility) to whine generally about mediocre raiding guilds and LC as a system…ironically dumpsteribg yourself in the process.

This describes ragequitting, yeah?
Oh man raid loot drama threads are the absolute best part of the forum for me. I love the salt.
To the OP: If you want loot your first raid, only join MS>OS /roll guilds. Even then, you would have been rolling OS against the guy that wanted it for PVP, because you came to raid not as a 2Hander Fury warrior. If want want guaranteed access to loot, form a guild, and run a corrupt loot council.
Thanks to all the people from DD adding some additional insite to both sides of the story.
I mean, I don’t think I’d describe it as ragequitting.
He left because the guild didn’t seem very good and the way they handled loot offended his sense of what was equitable. It’s fine for him to feel the way that he does. It sounds like it would have been a bigger upgrade for him…but its also important for him to realize there is how he feels…and then how the guild feels/operates.
He’s nobody to them early on. They don’t have much emotional or material investment in him. He hasnt earned that yet (but he couldve going forward). I wouldn’t have stuck around to try and earn it had I been in his position, because after 1 raid it’d have been clear the guilds standards and my own are too far apart.
I researched my current guild for a few weeks before I even applied to them about 5 months ago. I had a pretty good idea what their culture and ability level was…what their history in WoW was.
It sounds more like he was frustrated by the concept of someone who already had really good 1 handed DPS weapons (as a warrior) getting what would have been a decent upgrade for his own character using weapons.
It’s like that Family Guy episode where that one character has all the food in front of him and is force eating it in front of starving people. That’s how the OP feels, and part of me empathizes with how he feels coming away from this situation.
It’s a nuanced situation however.
He’s a trial in a new guild that uses LC. He chose to join this guild in particular.
Trials aren’t often given equal priority for loot against main raiders…this isn’t a new concept. It’s not that he can’t get loot…just that he’s not equal priority for it.
The guild would rather reward loyal/established members over newcomers. I’m not saying this is always the right call in every situation. Sometimes depending on your guilds situation and the trials performance…you should or may need to provide them with incentive to stick around/feel valued sooner rather than later.
If recruiting is really tough and you’re w struggling guild with a really strong trial who personality wise is a good fit…maybe the officer core sits down and goes “We really like this trial…we don’t want to send a message that we don’t value their time/effort, we’ll throw them a bone”.
Its usually not a big/BIS item either. Maybe you give a trial Cloak of Firemaw…or potentially really strong boots like Chromatic Boots…or you run MC and you hook them up with an Onslaught Girdle. You almost assuredly aren’t giving them DFT.
I’d consider giving a trial Drake Talon Cleaver if it dropped ad it’s a middle of the road PVP weapon. Ashkandi is a top tier PVP weapon.
The smart play for him would have been to inspect all the hunters in the raid to see if they have Ashkandi. If anybody doesn’t have it; probably dont even put in for it. You wait until they get to Ashkandi and when they ask who’s interested, as a trial you still say nothing and wait to see who puts in for it.
If there’s interest between multiple raiders, you just lay in the weeds and day nothing. If they are like “Man nobody wants Ashka do cause it’s so bad…we’re going to DE it at this rate…” THEN you say…“I know I’m a trial, but it’s be an upgrade for me over what I’m using currently and would really appreciate it.”
Then if they like you enough…maybe you get one of the best 2 handers in the game between BWL and AQ40.
Isn’t this like your 10th post with the same problematic ? At some point, you should probably question yourself. Maybe you area the problem instead of every single guild you join no ?
This guy was on my server before transferring off. He’s an epic troll. Flag and move on
Since he named himself and the realm it’s super easy to find the guild. Just search Kade on WCL. Only parse for DD is from the guild Purge.
Are you the same guy who made a post like this about it happening to a Ret Paladin a few months ago?
EDIT: Apparently not.
I’m pretty sure it is. He always posts from a character that is some version of Kane or Kade, posts a wall of text about a “crappy” guild that he /gquit during his first raid run, and other ex-guildies always show up later in the thread to discredit what he says.
He’s done it two or three times now.
Lol.
Initially I wasn’t paying attention so I thought he may have been talking about an experience Alliance side.
If he was Horde side, it’s even worse. Horde is even more tight knit on DD and you really can’t afford this type of behavior…even moreso Horde side.
All that character is good for now is solo’ing BGs and running 5 man dungeons.
I’d laugh so hard if OP wasted money to transfer his Alliance char to DD…he’d be lucky if he got to do much of anything.
Edit:. Is this the same guy who posted a giant whine thread about his ret paladin months ago…then switched to holy but was total garbage so he got ejected from the guild?
Gross…he made it all the way to DD…
Why does someone need to build up “loyalty over time” to get PvE gear in a 15 year old game?
Probably because they are tired of seeing people like you who demand gear without showing anything even remotely like dedication to a guild.
i play on this server, they dont. the op will be fine, but he isnt telling the whole story.
next time Kade dont air your dirty laundry out in world chats.
maybe run with them more than once to get a huge item…
you’re being selfish
Loot council & all the wipes in BWL even with geared people (LOL) should tell you everything you need to know about that guild. If you don’t like authoritarianism and/or toxic people on power-trips then don’t ever join a Loot Council guild.
