Black Lotus Spawn Rate Increased - February 13

Very nice.

Here’s another idea: hire some GMs to actually police the game in real time and ban the bots.

What does this increase spawn accomplish? That bots will just be even more active.

Eh I think it may have peaked and is dying down at this point, I mean if you haven’t already rushed and completed everything are you even a sweatlord? my guess is the bubble has popped and these throwback necro posts are more pining for how good it was briefly.

How does this fix or address the Black Lotus Mafia mass reporting and getting actual players banned? Real players cant even get black lotuses because you wont ban the bots that mass report people who take the bots black lotus. This is doing nothing for actual players while giving more lotuses to the bots. All you have to do is ban the bots and you keep dancing around it

2.5 months to make a change you already knew was needed 5 years ago. Guess maybe in another 3-4 months you’ll make a post about the other issues that are raised daily on the forums. Meanwhile, SoD gets hotfix after hotfix.

I appreciate the effort but I would have preferred a strategy to make it much harder (Ideally impossible) to camp black lotus spawns.

I can’t prove it, but I suspect the “aggregate supply” is quite sufficient already, but being hoarded by a few to keep the price high.

Will further action be taken if we don’t see a change in black lotus pricing?

It’s crazy to see people that literally have no idea how supply and demand work. There is something deeply wrong with our education system.

that’s not gonna change lol :expressionless:

Agreed and when last I looked thorium prices were not through the roof

rather have black lotus at a vendor. all this does is allow bots to farm more black lotus.

How about giving Black Lotus a chance to drop off of other certain high level herbs in addition to farming it individually? Almost like Swiftthistle.

Probably because flasks would be so cheap you would be using them in dungeons

This is a great first start, please monitor this, i am sure the majority of the player base would love the node changes from before were you guys allowed black lotus and even mining nodes to proc a chance to get a black lotus, or the thorium veins. The alchemy changes were awesome as well. QoL changes like those are very minor and will keep the player base active past phase 2 and 3. Don’t let the anniversary servers die!

there are 300 raiding guilds on nightslayer, probably more because not everyone will upload logs.

300 raid groups with 40 members, were talking 12,000 lotus’s per week. minimum if each group clears mc and ony with one flask to be consumed, more if the raid days are split. if everyone was actually interested in using them. the aggregage supply is definitely not there for something like that i dont think, but id lvoe to be proven wrong.

any changes they make for anniversary will liekly affect all versions of the game, because they use the same client.

Admittedly, I’m not an economics major. I decided to do something useful with my life and went to school to become a nurse practitioner and eventually a CRNA. Supply and demand doesn’t really factor into my day to day.

That aside, I suppose I am approaching the matter with the mindset that if I were the “kingpin” of the oft talked about “Black Lotus mafia” and I controlled most if not all Black Lotus on a server and suddenly Blizzard were to make any changes that increased the supply, and by extension my supply of them, I wouldn’t suddenly flood the market with them. I’d continue to drip-feed them into the market while continuously increasing the price per piece knowing that demand would continually increase. Yes, supply has increased but if I am in total control of the supply, why would I tip that scale in the opposite direction?

I ask this as a genuine question and as long as you are able to remove your head from a certain somewhere long enough to refrain from insulting someone’s intelligence or education level, I would actually love your take on the matter.
