Found one black lotus now after running around WS and Burning steppes for the past 2.5 hours. So they may have increased rates, but it wasn’t by a lot lol
Lotus now spawn faster than before but for the normal players that’s useless since mafia farmers and bots will still get all lotus the moment it spawn -thanks to the scouting hunters with eagle eye.
and they will store those additional lotus in their banks to keep prices high

They said found 1.12 data on a backup of a backup. They probably had some even older patch data, but not enough to accurately reconstruct a true progressive patch timeline. Or, more accurately…they couldn’t be bothered.

They made a presentation as to why Vanilla servers should be made. They didn’t give them game data.
Nano has made videos about this whole process. He also talked about how Blizz hired private detectives to follow and harass and basically stalk the Nostalrius devs.
I have a feeling by shutting down Nost they hoped Blizz might hire them for this project, but that didn’t happen.
Black Lotus went down to 95g last night on Nightslayer Horde.
It is now back up to 124g.
Though, it is the weekend now, we shall see.
Seems pretty clear they don’t want to maintain that separately though.
There are really 2 things to consider here. 1.13 client. And 1.13 compatible server-side infrastructure. While they could likely easily spin up 1.13 as it was when it launched. (clients are generally compatible with modern os’s for a very long time. ) And similarly they probably have the sever side written to be infrastructure as code. That server side infrastructure as code however does not have the same lifespan and might not be valid anymore. Cloud provider services change much faster (we know they used google, did they switch to ms? -edit).
There would likely be some tweaks to deprecated/removed infrastructure/architecture. As well as security patching on both client and server side.
So while the client itself would be easy to push to end users. It might not be compatible with their current server side. And yah you can compare current to old and cherry pick updates. And fix everything that’s broken. Thats not always as easy as it sounds. Especially if you want to actually have it tested rather than cowboyed. And they are cowboys.

Hell dude they could copy and paste characters data / fire and forget and never touch era again and it would save them thousands of hours on bug fixes.

i will keep playing classic era until they corrupt it so much that i simply can’t play anymore. this black lotus respawn rate increase, yeah, i can live with it. i don’t like it but fine. i’m just worried that eventually they will corrupt era with a really bad change, like God forbid, doll speck. if that happens, i am 100% out.
i think the issue is they want to ween classic players off of classic and into retail, dude they don’t want to give us a sanctuary that is never touched. that’s not part of their 5 year plan for us.
what is actually your issue with dual spec? i mean honestly. what do you get out of forcing everyone to play as one spec?

Multiple guildmates have WATCHED as a black lotus they could see vanishes from the screen. They continue to be picked mysteriously. The hardcoded black lotus spawn locations don’t work for 2025. Why are you being an idiot happy with the problem?
People play the game to have fun. Delete the unfun. There’s no reason someone with 300 herbalism should go their entire career without finding a single black lotus. It’s dumb.
