Bioware. What happened to the giant?

This isn’t woke done right or wrong though, this is simply good writing and proper storytelling.

Point is, something is only woke when it’s bad to these folks.

Using Concord as an example, OW would be considered much more woke, but it has good character designs and gameplay, while concord was just trash compared to every other hero shooter.

Are you so dense not to realize that aside from one other person you are the ONLY one going around saying “woke”.

Where did the woke touch you? Do you need help?

His entire goal is to drive the discussion that direction. I’d just stop giving his fire any oxygen.

You do realize almost every game has an agenda right, bad writing is just bad writing

You stated Larian and BG3 aren’t work, which I rightfully mocked.

I wasn’t the first person to bring it up.

Veilguard is currently 16th on Steam’s “current players” list, absolutely pathetic, may as well be a festering corpse, should’ve been written off for taxes like a WB film. /s

Yes, but if you haven’t read the books it’d be hard to have an opinion on the TV series being awful compared to the books!

There’s a reason. WoT is one of the best fantasy book series written (IMO). Like top 3. The story is amazing.

The TV series absolutely guts it. It’s not just the OTT wokeness the showrunner forced into an already woke story - it’s how the story itself was gutted and dumbed down for TV.

It’s similar to how much better the game of thrones books were compared to the TV series. However at least GoT TV series was good (up to a point before it went trash). GoT wasn’t ruined by wokeness though.

I quoted another poster.

You quoted someone else who was also mocking the first woke post: a guy saying go woke go broke.

I’m simply posting woke a lot bouncing between you and another guy and we’re slap fighting about wokeness.

What they did to that story was a crime against humanity

Cool. Thats what I’ve been told…a lot lol. I might read one over winter.

Management did. Game studios that are large have to justify high salaries for people that are actually bringing the game down.

Small indie companies, they don’t have this issue. Look at “Enshrouded,” the game is beta, but they are actually on track for doing everything they set out to do to have a great finished product. There is no manager screaming about money, sales, and what not.

Accountants, and management… that’s what happened.

I actually enjoyed playing Andromeda as part of my EA play membership. You can also play Veilguard with their EA pro for $17 or so as well and save money btw.

From what excerpts I have seen of Veilguard the scenes look goofy and strange. Seems like something made for teens but I haven’t played it and those could only be outliers. Also from what I’ve read it was known that there would be no DLC for awhile.

Veilguard is doing very well on Steam regardless though, so that says something.

Also Cyberpunk 2077 was fairly good but no masterpiece in my view. It had decent scenes but I still think it fell vastly short of whatever they advertised it to be. It was very linear and on rails for the most part. It was really Phantom Liberty and its overhaul that set the game on a better track.

Damn…I completely forgot about EA pro. I might sub for a month. Been a while since Ive played BF.

It has gotten a lot better. We aren’t talking no man sky improved but it is a lot better.

My only problem with veilguard is how action oriented it is. Feels like a 3rd person diablo game made for a console.

The story and writing and characters are all fine. Better than DAI honestly. Just a lot of hate from people afraid to walk under a rainbow.

I like the show and the books if only because Ive been waiting since a child in the 90s for an on screen adaptation

I can kinda see some truth in this. Or put another way, ‘woke’ is only a reason for a game to be bad/fail, but never for it to succeed. If two games both contain ‘woke’ elements but only one is well-regarded, that one will be for other reasons while the ‘bad’ one is because it has ‘woke’ elements.

It hasn’t put up amazing numbers, but what I was getting at is that Silent Hill 2 Remake has a fraction of the players. DA:V currently has more than SH2’s peak player count.

but SH2 broke 1 million copies sold in a couple of days so it hasn’t actually been a disaster in terms of sales.

I’m not gonna try to say that Steam player counts are entirely without merit, but it’s not the be all end all of measurements for a game’s success where a game is automatically a failure if it doesn’t light the Steam charts on fire.

Jim Sterling just dropped a vid on it :grinning:

Bellular sometimes makes good points though. Even if he has way too much of an elitist perspective.

Asmongold hasn’t said anything worth listening to for years.
