tbf, that was when they were High Elves so the colors were symbollic of that era. Things definitely changed. The “repainting” was likely just magic. They used magic to power and hold the city together as well. And in lore everything is repaired. It’s just not shown in game. Because nothing gets shown in game like that unless they can make it a world quest hub.
I have a dwarf paladin (and my DID) specifically for those mounts. Perfection.
I love dwarves. My first Alliance character, and second wow character were my Dwarf Priest.
What they did to Wildhammer gives me so much hatred for Blizzard… I can’t even explain.
What was my… Point… Right!
I love dwarf history.
I still want Wildhammer as their own AR, though my wildhammers do look good.
So much this.
I cannot explain how much I want this.
But I would were this not the blood elf thread.
They should have made a catch all Dwarf allied race like they did for Maghar at the very least.
Depression looming due to this being accurate
Dark Irons rocks, I absolutely love mine, if it wasn’t Alliance it could very well be my main which is why I leveled it last of my 4 Alliance Warlocks because I already knew that I’d spend a ton of time on it and I already am like literally in the last couple of days I have went from super non-geared to somewhat geared, renown 71, all buildings at level 3 and the whole campaign done on her which is crazy given I didn’t skip most of it like on other alts.
I am happier with my sort of Wildhammer than no Wildhammer whatsoever.
Should have been all 3 dwarves as a separate thing, but… Well, here we are.
I have a delightfully gloomy pale dwarf death knight with feathers and blue tattoos who rides the dead gryphon.
This is Avarie’s lovely Wildhammer hunter who really needs to be leveled.
i like ya though. i’m inspired by your joy and friendliness, every day. always smiling and hugging.
lol i wanna see this!
Awww, you are really sweet to say that and thanks for that as well, I have always tried to be a very positive person in a very negative world.
I need to update her mog, but it’s very satisfying!
oh that looks cool (no pun intended)!
I just kept my promise (also VERY busy end of the week at work, not time to post actual material nor art today).
Ideally I´d choose the second mockup done by Lance a.k.a. the black Hawkstrider with the red accents.
… did someone mocked his customization or something? As far as I remember, nobody told him anything rude (heck, I was the most “aggresive” one against him and I just basically told him I was gonna block that toon cause I don´t want to read his comments, period).
I don´t think telling him that was paramount to any kind of harrasement, wtf…
To be even fairer, teal is STILL part of the Icon of Blood a.k.a. a Belf color. WC3 had gold accents, not silvery per se. And the Sunwell Trilogy comics had the buildings originally painted red.
In short: Blizzard´s usual lack of consistence. Cause any new lore source arbitrarily changes the colors of the buildings.
Sorry double post… was looking for new art material to put in here (I´m fishing for ear damage mockups, so far no luck) and I bumped with this -I know, not customization related-:

And then I remembered the devs butchered our old ear /cry animation and I got salty… I would like to get that one back, the ear tips folded in on themselves while the Belf toon cries. It was a cute effect in the animation.
So far this is the only semi new and interesting thing I´ve found (notice the “earring model” on the fem Belf; also 100% sold on the runic marks on the male Belf):

Omg, the absolute LACK of damaged ears mockups or even merely fanarts is abismal… I think I know which is gonna be my next petition to any artist willing to have a go at this idea.
I think that’s due to the fact that a lot of players don’t necessarily want damaged ears. I’m not against it, but I would never use them. I like my elf looking pristine and unblemished ….though, undead colouring is subject to change on that front if we ever get it.
I’m the exact opposite myself. I don’t want a pristine or perfect elf. I find beauty in scars and battle wounds, it shows merit and battle-hardiness. Damaged ears would be on all of my elves. I need to commission more art of the damage, clearly.
I hate how there can’t be a mixture of beauty and brutality, it has to be one or the other ><
That’s fine, like I said I’m not against it. Phae would have healed any wounds by siphoning the life out of other beings anyways.
