BG Ban wave. Blizzard needs to address this

All the bans are reviewed by GMs and your stats are all visible to them. Damage done. Movement etc.

It’s a batched banwave. So you just go on a list for a future ban. Just like they’ve done for years against botters.

That’s not what I said. I said it’s very possible to have 0-0 as your stats on a BG because you’re defending.

I actually got banned for a week for this last month. If you are actually playing the game nothing will happen to you. Afk reports don’t automatically ban you. What i was told was that i was purposely avoiding to get dc. They check many different things too, like dmg, healing, etc. I learned my lesson and now i actually play the game. If you got banned you are deff not innocent

Defending a tower and not moving to another tower that was just taken isn’t defending. You are not participating.

Sitting in Van/Dreks room for 80% of the game waiting for the enemy team to finally get to you is not participating.

Doing over 100 BGs on my death knight there were many times were I did low damage because I’d take a tower, kill a guard or 2, defend the tower with no contest and then run to Drek but he would die before I get there. Getting banned for absolutely participating is not ok. If someone gets AFK’d out of 10 games for sitting in the starter cave then sure, ban them. Banning people who are not running with the main zerg and focusing objectives shouldn’t be a thing. Automated systems never work out in these situations.

No it’s not unless you are intentionally avoiding contributing anything.

It’s possible but no one is gonna report you for defending gold mine because you are still an asset to the team.

That’s not analogous to AFKing in harpy caves

Nobody is getting banned for capping. Trying to imagine ways you could do nothing in a BG, legitimately, is hilarious, this player base man…

They don’t ban the gold farming bots and you think they have enough people to review however many bans this was? You’re a clown.

That’s the problem, people are getting banned for defending the tower and going to the enemy boss or to another tower to defend until it caps, NOT for sitting in a tower/bunker after it caps.

I wouldn’t say it’s super common, but it can definitely happen. It’s totally possible to assault a tower, guards dead by the time you finish, defend until cap, run to join the team at the boss, both teams pulled at 2 towers, boss dead by the time you get there.

More often than not you get to at least hit the guards or something, but 0 stat games are definitely possible without afking. With that said, I’m skeptical people are getting banned for the occasional game where nothing happened for them.

TBH with no LFD I don’t blame players for AFK in AV and get decent honor. I also, do not blame them for killing harpies since its good XP. Blizzard should nerf XP in BGs outside of objective XP and add LFD. This would fix AV levelers.

You are though…standing in a tower and intimidating the opponent so they don’t back-cap is still contribution. Defending a GY so opposing players run around instead of capping is still contribution.

Standing in the entry cave is not participating. Literally standing on any contested spot IS contributing.

I’m not banned so no, but the fact remains that you participated and their system sees you as not. If you’re late to the tower because you had to take a piss and the guards are dead… banned. Took a drink from your cup and missed the first wave?..banned.

I can say anything beyond being the first to arrive and not auto-attacking and it’ll show a flaw in the system.

Thank you for being honest

Nah, defending afk’ers makes you a clown. Hiding Something?

Please respond to what I actually said rather than making a totally random point.

I’m talking about getting 0 - 0 in a BG because the other team is stupid, and you posting up at GM in a 3-2 Arathi often deters rogues and cap-happy-pallies.

And yes, in AV, defending TP, and letting 8 go to Icewing while you stay there to prevent the need for having to back cap TP again in a couple of minutes is absolutely participating, and participating with a brain, unlike the way the vast majority of WoW players play BGs.

Do you have a single shred of evidence that all these people who suddenly get banned for 30 days were AFK?
