Better Name for "Social Contract"

Changing the name won’t matter, it’s too late now, everyone is just going to keep referring to it as the social contract even if Blizz changes it to something cute.

Because it’s NOT. We all agreed to the TOS, so why the need to agree to this “social contract”? It’s bigger than the TOS, it’s a message. You can’t win in the real world with wokeness, but you can in a game like this. I will gladly stop playing and NEVER agree to the “social contract” if this is all the power the woke have. Good luck with your victory sheep.

So have you canceled your subscription yet or not?

It’s not. They have the Squelch, too which existed LONG before this Contract came into play. Or, did you forget all about that?

people keep calling the thing woke, i dont get that, after reading it its just an other ToS, i’ve agreed to many and i dont get why some people have such a hard time agreeing to not being a butt head online or else face discipline clause.

The issue is, of course, the term “Social contract”. Agreeing to accept a set of rules that are only slightly reworded from the previous one - but with that title - would be akin to accepting the concept that we are all a part of a society, a community that can at times help others. They are opposed to both the idea that they are part of the same community that you and I are, as well as the idea that people who need help should get it from anyone, even those who are so inclined as to be helpful, which they see as a moral failing.

Pirate code.

It’s more like guidelines.

“Rules of WoW”
or
“Social agreement”

Either of those would be better IMHO. Contracts aren’t for friendship or social interactions

No need to cancel it, just going to let it expire.

No point keeping a subscription if you can’t login right?

An accord is an official agreement. :man_shrugging:

Besides, it was just a joke in a lighthearted thread. So, keep it lighthearted.

Plenty of forum warriors subscribe only for the purpose of partaking in forum PvP.

Maybe. I’d imagine some are partaking because they click “Exit the game.”

I like that one!

Oh, that would be better: “Social accord”

Thinking about it, I like it more and more. Kind of resolute

Better than mine.

Are you saying that people who have been telling us since the start of Shadowlands that they only stay subscribed to use the forums said that last year because of this new popup? I think not. That’s been an always thing, not new since yesterday.

The benicetoeachotheroverbeingrudeandajerkallthetimeorelseyou’llsuffertheconsequences contract. Rolls off the tongue so nicely doesn’t it.
