It currently does, just tested it. Does not proc off of Mindbender though.
Hmm I seem to remember it did but yes def something to test. Had a glance at the trees but on my way to work so only a glance. Iām glad rapture is more relevant now and has the extended seconds on the atonement. Will help with the extended schism duration to get more value
VE could be changed to all damage not just shadow To make it worthwhile to other specs. God to see depth of shadows again
I donāt know. Itās now a 7 sec duration. If you cast mindgames, mind blast, dark reprimande and a sw:death, youāre prety much done and unleashed a decent amount of damage and atonement healing. Adding VE leech to that and it sounds like a decent burst healing.
Like I said, it might not be on par with other options but it sounds decent
Edit: might be an issue of button bloatā¦ is VE outside the gcd?
Then it would be VERY OP for Shadow.
It is not a good ability to try and make work for all 3 specs because no matter what you do, it will be crap or OP pending the spec.
Having played Shadow as my main class/spec since TBC, Iāve gotta say that the new talent tree is the most disappointed Iāve ever been at any Shadow changes. The talent tree feels like a mess with no direction and no cohesion. Giving players choices is nice and all, but youāre trying to balance 3 completely different playstyles here, and I do not think itās going to end well at all.
The previous iteration of the Shadow tree was much better IMO.
I just tested it, it doesnāt.
This would make it viable to disc too but not holy.
It could be the same as shammanās version.
- Ancestral Guidance: For the next 10 sec, 25% of your damage and healing is converted to healing on up to 3 nearby injured party or raid members.
- New Vampiric Embrace: Fills you with the embrace of Shadow energy for 15 sec, causing you to heal a nearby ally for 50% of any single-target spell damage or heal you deal.
For the damage, it is decent for single target, but still lackluster when compared to the older new version of the tree with wicked star. Atonment would be cut in half for the debuff, so it would be 25% increased damage but 50% decreased heal. This should be 75% of the 50% normal atonment?!
But the VE would work just fine and it would be really amplified, but youād only have 1 VE every 3 or 4 shadow cov.
It is not.
I believe he wanted to say all single-target damage, not just shadow.
One thing I would also change is Balance in All thing. I like the concept I even suggested something like that. But It should also work with healing not just Shadow dmg and holy dmg but also include Shadow heal (Shadow Mend/Shadow Cov) and Holy heal in the rotation. So if you follow the rotation your next Cast is always 15% stronger whatever it is.
I wish they would of kept that version I liked the shadow effect of Star/Halo. Would of been nice to also have a buff for those in the Holy tree. Also Star DoT could of helped for VE
How so? I dknāt beleive atonement is holy healing? It was the same in previous tree, you just had wicked star but shadow cov had 2 seconds longer duration.
Iām prety sure it effect mindbender/shadowfiend as well and generates more atonement healing. Sw:pain should still be affected by shadow cov as well. So basically itās just VE that isnāt triggered by the last 2.
All this still sounds like decent healing.
While interesting, this would be a burden since we lost shadowmend as flash heal, and now have both shadowmend on a 15s and flash heal together.
Back then we didnāt have VE so it wasnāt counting with it. Now it is kinda balanced. I do think Wicked Star would be nightmare to balance cause it would be too overtuned in AoE for both healing and damage purposes (cause it applied a dot and that dot should trigger atonment, but it was a powerful dot).
I am not sure, maybe Capslocky, Dakketh or someone else knows but I believe it is counted as holy heal. Though in the previous tree we were stipulating to pick Shadow cov for damage purposes via Wicked Star/Halo, not for the heals.
Iām not sure of that eiter, iām going to test it and return to you. But SW:pain does trigger VE.
DF Pre-purchase: purchased. Iām a happy customer thanks for bringing back bubble discipline devs!
If we lose on atonement healing, ot kinda defeats the purpose of the whole cdā¦ weāre still a healer after allā¦
Right now maybe but the tooltip indicates otherwise for the one in the class tree?
Thatās an interesting question. Some spells have different schools. Fire, radiancy etc but I think I always assumed atonement was holy. Got me thinking
I canāt test it cause I donāt have alpha, but it remains to be seen. Just tested that Mindbender nor shadowfiend have increased damage from shadow covenant.
Where is it? It states single target damage spells, our dots are single target.
According to Wowhead it is physical(!?).
So, is Lightās wrath counted as holy for school lockout? Or is radiance a school? It seems to be the merge of Holy and Fire, so to interrupt this would basically means interrupt both holy and fire schools for us? (Technically preventing PtW to be applied)
But since atonement does proc off of damage, I believe it is meant to always be half of the damage intended (since 1 damage still counts for the whole atonement heal). So Thelarias, I believe youāre right on your shadow covenant statement (except for fiend/bender).
Everyoneās talking endgame stuff in a way thatās way over my quite-rusty head, so Iāll leave that to you smarter people.
From a leveling/soloing perspective, this is the most ārpgā priest has looked since Vanilla. Like, itās not even close. Rolling a new priest looks exciting for the first time since MoP maybe? And I know thatās not the most critical function in the world for the game to sustain players, but itās pretty cool to me. There is a lot of choice in what youāre going to do and how youāre going to do it. Iām happy.
Hope when everyone has a grasp on how this plays out in M+/Raid/Arena you all are happy too.
I believe your point is totally right and you should really speak up for what you enjoy. Most of people enjoy playing some alts (including myself) solely because of the rpg/theme of that spec. I personally love frost and time spells, so much that frost mage is my beloved second spec (I only finished Mage Tower with the specs I am pretty good at, which are Disc and Frost Mage).
Tell you tonight after gym how I feel. I was happish before so Iām sure I will be happy now. I saw borrowed time back and laughed. Good to see some old stuff thatās not ground breaking return
No its wouldnt cause lets say you cast Smite your next Shadow dmg/Healing is boosted. then you cast mend. you do few rotation in term of dmg then holy turn hop you go flash heal. The cooldown on Mend dont really matter. The rotation should just be shadow/holy whatever you do either dmg or Heal and it boost the next one you cast whatevever it is
Might be so. It makes sense I guess.
Damage over tine effect != single target spell. But itās a speculation so I dunnoš¤·āāļø
All I am saying is that shadow covenant is meant to increase our damages for increased atonement healing. If it reduces our primary source of healing it is uther garbage. The talent strenght is already debateable as a cd that increases the healing so imho, it doesnāt decrease atonement healing.
I missed borrowed time. Some good memories. Just loved the spell graphic, always noticed it pop in the middle of battlegrounds.
I still donāt like modern disc aesthetically but I might pop over and try it for old timeās sake at this point.
