Why though? If the trees are great, they can keep it and allow for those who don’t care about it to not pick it. Simple as that imo.
maybe major overhaul was a bad choice of words. but were gonna get some shuffles and good stuff is gonna come from this. as more classes are coming to the end of their tree’s development they can throw some extra time at the classes who havent gotten the attention they have needed so badly since the tree’s debuted. following max and a bunch of the development a good portion of the work is done. the trees are all the big part
They said in their initial post they’re overhauling all the trees so we need to wait for the next alpha build to deploy hopefully this week.
Right now we got the scribble notes version of changes whereas other class developers are much more detailed about exactly what is changing.
but thats exactly my point we dont know what the tree’s will look like so jumping to conclusions is a bad thing
And that’s fine, but Lightwell just shouldn’t be anywhere near the bottom of a priest tree. They need to add something that actually synergizes with the previous talents that lead up to it.
The Karazhan Redemption of the Fallen consumable synergizes more then Lightwell.
I have zero faith that they can make Lightwell a worthwhile button to push. They tried for years and finally gave up. I think it’s going to be doa as-is and rather than leave it in the tree for the half dozen people that like it for uh…flavor? or whatever, I’d rather replace it with an actual compelling choice.
Imagine getting Cascade back.
Lightwell would work if it functioned like a viable raid wide healing cd like Healing Tide Totem. Holy would have 3 raid wide healing cds to use.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Lightwell is removed though or it’s pushed further up in the tree in an optional side path.
Do you think DA is powerful enough to replace Indemnity (2 sec longer Atonement from PWS) or be a bottom tier leaf node?
I still want to see any spell that costs Insanity to proc Apparitions. I’'d like every direct damage spell to proc Apparitions but that’d probably be too many and they’d nerf their damage. But there’s no reason for Spenders to not proc them.
My biggest gripe about Apparitions is that they travel too slowly to the target.
Let’s say you get several procs in a row during cleave phase and the target dies, but you spawn about 5 Apparitions. That’s a decent amount of damage you missed out on all because they decided to walk to the target instead of fly at jetspeed to the target. I can’t think of any other spell graphic in the game that travels as slowly as Apparitions, sans Frozen Orb (mage).
So with Mind Sear costing insanity now, what ability will SPs have to do easy peasy farming of old raids and such?
correct me if im wrong but wasnt DA our mastery from mop/wod era? and if so it’ll def be on the lower part of our tree for sure where idk? our tree was wild b4
DA is a powerful enough talent that you wouldn’t ever not take it, regardless of where it is. Especially as you gear up more. Soon as you’re at like 20% crit it’s better than many healer talents and it’s passive/easy to use. At the same time, it’s making our mastery more and more worthless (it was already pretty close to crit as it was) so 20% crit is pretty guaranteed to be what you have.
It started in Wrath at 30% of the heal - it was pretty low in the tree, maybe 1 or 2 tiers above Penance.
In Cata/MoP/WoD it was a passive I believe. The amount bubbled was 100% and probably was too much. But 30% is decent for Wrath - and 15% in this iteration of Disc is fair.
my question was, was it always a talent or wasnt it our mastery in mop/wod regaurdless of the anwser itll def be lower capstone most likely but we shall see the lower half of our talent tree was wild
I think Shield Discipline was the mastery back then.
I feel it could compete with rapture ( assuming it stays in a form where it allows for application of pws without cd maybe?)
Both shield options have different use for shielding so it would make sense to me. Maybe lower on the tree?
What if it were a dual node - where you chose either Spirit Shell or Divine Aegis?
DA is strictly more powerful than SS
