Best Default Level 1 Class?

My guild is having an event tomorrow where we all bring default level 1 characters and have a duelling tournament. Any suggestions on which class/race combo (Horde) would be hardest to defeat? Lol. It’s 1v1 tournament and then a mass slaughter fest.

Thanks

Hunter? Maybe mage or lock would be up there too
just dps race really

If theres no gearing allowed I’d think tauren warrior would be BiS

Yeah starting gear only  I’m looking forward to it though, especially the slaughter fest lol

Is there a level restriction on duels?

Lol yes, level 1 only. You are allowed 10 copper to buy skills and thats it. No potions, no scrolls or anything like that. Only a level 1 char, with default clothing, but class of your choice.

I’d say something that’s not completely weapon damage dependent.

Shaman? Lightning bolt, rockbiter, plus a heal.

Mage gets AI, frost armor, and fireball.

Lock gets demon skin, a dot, and a cast. Probably best bet as you can dot/run plus the buff gives a bit of hp/s.

Many are jack all with level 1 skills.

any class that has a heal at level 1.

It’s all going to come down to who can heal vs who can’t. Blood elf will be stupidly overpowered btw thanks to mana tap and arcane torrent.

Ya at lvl 1 would be a real weak fight

Hunter hands down. Nothing else comes close. Mages, Warlocks and Priests are all murdered by pushback. So are Druids.

Warrior won’t be able to get close. Rogue won’t even have stealth.

Hunter by far. Hunters can simply whittle you down from range all while constantly running away from you.

Nothing is going to beat a hunter at level 1

Did not realize rogues could get stealth at level one. So rogues for sure.

You’re thinking like a high level. Thats not the game here… Hunter’s create a lot of pushback later on because of their instant casts in addition to their pet attacks. Not so much as a level 1…

It’s rogue for sure. You CAN actually get stealth at level 1, it’ll cost exactly 10c. Which means they basically autowin in any fight where they get the opener. Casters will suffer a lot of pushback while getting hit by a fast weapon plus sinister strike and hunters have no way to create distance at level 1. A tauren/human hunter MIGHT have a chance if they get a perception or stun off, but even then the odds aren’t in their favor since 2 SS and an eviscerate is gonna kill any level 1 or the rogue can just run away and restealth… Oh and also NE rogues have over a 25% chance to dodge at level 1 in addition to better stealth.

Pretty much rogue no contest. They even start out with a throwing knife too so even at range they’re not useless unlike a war

Oh we are dead meat… lol

I think the only real question is which race of rogue you pick. NE have a little more than 5% more dodge and better stealth, but perception could be strong. Not sure how much it really benefits you without actual openers in the mirror though so NE probably wins.

BE is actually completely OP against any caster class with arcane torrent, but if it’s a lot of rogue v rogue mirror troll wins. Same if you’re allowing x-faction. BE wins overall, but Troll/NE probably win if it devolves into everyone playing rogue.

I just wanted to chime in and applaud you guys for doing something like this for the sake of fun. There are so many non-fun threads, that this sounds pretty awesome. I haven’t seen a lvl1 Hogger raid in a while, but that was the goofy fun that always made me laugh back in the day. I don’t pvp, but this sounds fun enough that I might give it a shot if I had a group of friends doing it. Good luck!!

I assume enchants are a no-go then? I remember in original TBC, I got bored and made a level 1 paladin twink with like the Nethercleft leg enchant, fiery on weapon and a bunch of other random stamina enchants. I was destroying people in their late teens/early 20s in duels and they had no idea what was going on, lmao.

I thought they could not get stealth until level 2 so yeah, forget what I said, rogues will own it

From what I remember in the few lvl 1 duels I did, rogue has pretty good crit chance too at lvl 1. I imagine orc rogue with the racial would dominate.
