Benched for choosing the wrong covenant

No.
It IS however a big proof of the poor quality of our game dev team.

Idk, even the good guilds are setting dates for their members as to when they should craft their legendaries, or some are saying that their members can craft a 190 version now but not upgrade it, etc.

Also good guilds will tell you what professions to go, and what alts you are allowed to play (assuming they are for splits). There are still some rules.

You are correct though, I doubt there is much enforcement of covenant choice in the top rosters, it’s more just getting benched for low dps, the reason doesn’t really matter.

Doesn’t feel that way.

I think you need to recheck your sources. Night Fae is the way to go. Blood Mallet shows night fae/nina as the optimal choice for a follower, and also most affliction warlocks rolled night fae too according to the covenant rankings data per class over on wowranks io

I’m sure it’s been done, but has anyone simmed all of the DPS covenant abilities to see the % difference between each? I can’t fathom how the choice is that impactful over the course of a 5 minute or so raid encounter. What you do between covenant ability CDs seems a bit more important.

“Better” is pretty contextual and depends on order of magnitude.

Numbers don’t lie, it’s the worst skill.

I think the biggest issue is knowing that if I took for instance the night fae ability I know what damage I’m getting every time I use it

It’s also AoE and survival hunters have strong AoE and I keep feeling my self wanting to switch so I can turn myself into a nuclear bomb

That post was saying in a good guild everyone is already on the same page to begin with and it doesn’t need to be run as an iron fisted dictatorship.

Anyone trying to dictate my gameplay to me is a dick.

You haven’t used the other abilities then

You’re not stuck with the supposed “bad” options. Just play the one you want

Your guild leader got mad at you for losing like 5% of optimal patchwork dps? Yeah, good thing you left

Maybe to you it is. I’m having no issues

But Ion ensured us that wouldn’t happen.

Didn’t trust him so i’m an Undead Fairy with a raid spot.

And that’s why I said 9 times out of 10 the disconnect comes from people not sharing the expectations or goals of their guild or raid leader.

Like you said, it’s really all about being on the same page.

Wild guess. You haven’t touched Sludgefist yet.

I did. And I didn’t like the three minute cd on fairy land. Plus its just another hunters mark, big whoops. Kyrian was ok, Not a big deal, necrolord was cool but I liked flayed shot more.

The patchwerk DPS check boss obeys patchwerk DPS sims? Gasp

What about the other 10(? Idk I didn’t count) bosses that don’t

Yeah, but there’s a difference between making up a spreadsheet for maximum efficiency and actively having to tell people to do stuff.

Nobody in a top 100 guild needs to be told that going Venthyr on a Warlock is inting, y’know?

I don’t think my guild is high ranked enough to be qualified as a good guild, but that’s pretty much how it works here.

We’ve got 28 people in our roster. It doesn’t really matter why you’re underperforming, spots are limited so there’s a pretty big incentive to keep up to date if you don’t want to be benched.

I am playing the one I want, and it’s very very bad. That’s the whole point, the covenant system does not work as intended. There shouldn’t be a 5-15% variation in throughput from a choice we’re supposed to make on what we “like”.

My “like” of the Trashlords wanes every day because I know I’m hitting a ceiling imposed by this terrible system. I don’t want to hang out in Bastion, or the stupid blue forest. I want to join the guys who are all about war, and fighting and continue my murderhobo ways. By making this choice I’m putting a cap on how well I can preform because of badly designed skills and soulbinds. How can people not get this through there head that some of us want to play what we “like” but also be as much of an asset to our team by being the best possible version of our classes/specs?

Yes, its just a Hunter Mark if Hunter Mark was an orbital nuke on a 2 minutes CD.
