Bellular on removing great vault from the game

This is irrelevant to how the ladder works and what direction he’s given from higher ups.

FYI I hate it, it’s still RNG and can add more frustration. Also I don’t like that it can give more ilvl than a +15 for the M+ row

Ditch the vault and let us unlock mythic Ilvl loot with the all +20’s done achievement.

That way I’m not fishing every week for a 6 Ilvl upgrade to a specific item I just haven’t replaced from 246 yet.

Is there a difference?

AOTC is Heroic. Normal is… Normal.

It’s a static encounter you get 4-12 months to clear. I’m just saying there isn’t much of a difference between the two modes.

Which is sort of sad when you get right down to it.

There are a lot of things that are affecting the game right now, not just the great vault. At this point of this much of a content drought, no matter how we get bonus loot. It would be to the point of absolute boredom. Most players are just struggling to try to stay entertained. A reason to log in every day or every week. A reason to pay that $15 for just one more month of time.

After levelling 40 alts and gearing them so they can deal with anything world quest wise and weeklies. I could care nothing about gearing them any further than that. A low 200’s ilvl takes care of anything in any zone of any importance. The next patch will bump them up with more welfare gear to deal with the new zone the same way and anything there and set them up to level when the next xpac comes out. My main does just fine raiding with the guild. It is in clearing the content they clear each week when I feel well enough to show up for raid.

With the fact that Microsoft’s leader has now stated he wants to see a rise in WoW subscriptions and players. In the future you may see a shift in how the game mechanics are managed to draw players back to playing the game as well as to keeping them playing.

I’ve never met anyone who likes the vault. With how often offers nothing of value, I’d not miss it. There was a point where I got nothing from it for 5 weeks in a row, putting me behind my guild. Gearing in Shadowlands in general has been terrible.

For raid yes sure you could target something, personally I always felt pretty bad to get extra gold on such roll so I’m quite frankly ambivalent to have that make a come back. But there is no reason why the 2 systems couldn’t coexist.

For Mythics+ the vault is much better than the earlier iteration that was the weekly gear chest onto which you were given a total choice of 1 piece…
I mean realistically, was the weekly gear chest better than the vault? I don’t see how less options = better

If someone does it all he can have a panel of 6 choice PVE wise to choose from.
And if you don’t feel like it and only do 1 M+ and 3 raid boss you still get 2 choice with much less time investment.

Edit: Grammar

Should give us a reroll of a row of our choosing or let us mark/choose a boss for higher probability.

I prefer the vault over the bonus rolls. They could also both exist at the same time.

They can remove the vault if they add base 252 pieces to the end of the dungeon for mythic+. I’d even be ok if each dungeon had a weekly lockout in that case. Or even better would be the decay that visions introduced where loot was 5 ilvls lower per run…except it would be 3 in this case but 3 ilvl less per dungeon per run would prevent overly spamming too much.

I also think reroll tokens should come back but only can reroll vault options. You could also have the requirements to earn one be a fairly involved task like doing a bunch of weekly tasks…so for example, that could be shaping fate, do a covenant assault, complete the filling the reservoir weekly, and do like 3 callings. You can hold up to 3 rerolls max but it is powerful enough to reroll vault rewards entirely.

As for the vault itself, the only key change I think it is needs is toning down the number of runs for the 2nd and 3rd slot for mythic+…it should be 1, 3, and 6. It would also be nice if Blizzard would prevent the same slot as your current legendary from being an option and also preventing the same slot from showing up for that row multiple times. Still going all season with no 252 weapon (yet literally every alt has 1 and some have multiples) yet I think I’ve got dang near every neck the game has to offer (and maybe rings).

I think it is interesting that he mentioned wanting to see more wow players, considering the game has been bleeding players for a decade.

There’s not a streamer on the planet that will ever discuss this. I think I saw one blip by one once - and it was pathetic.

Sometimes I wonder if streamers helped push this endgame as the only game along. Imho

Plenty of streamers have discussed issues around casuals.

There’s only three streamers I pay attention to, IF I even bother to look which isn’t often so you may be right, but I’ve only seen one… ?? Even in histories…so, not exactly a hot topic

I agree that it’s not a hot topic. But a number of streamers have recognized the issue and spoken about it. A lot of streamers no longer play wow, too.

Most streamers are better players and rarely run into situations that would cause the issue of casual gameplay to intrude on their own playstyle.

Sounds like the vault being removed is only making things worse for people whom already find it annoying to get gear in retail.

Sounds like a pretty crappy decision.

Yes, I meant just for raids it is inferior. The trick with bonus rolls was they had bad luck protection. Failing 3 rolls meant that your 4th was extremely likely to give loot. I’d guess around 80%. Save that for the targeted boss. It made first kills that much more satisfying. As I recall this got me, all from first kills, a bracer from Wrathion, axe from Maut, trinket from Ra-den (yes that one), and some azerite pieces I’ve forgotten about. This is of course forgetting subsequent kills and using the same method to clean up gear I didn’t get the first time around. Probably around 3/5 of the usable gear I got from raid I got this way, and I’d been doing it since they announced the bad luck protection (might be as far back as MOP?) with similar results.

Yeah obviously. And doubly so since the gear is higher level than you would have gotten bonus rolling dungeons otherwise.

It may not be the best design, but i actually tend to look forward to reset day because of it lol
