"Beledar"? Really? Why?

I would not completely rule out the possibility of a naruu connection. A ship or a part of a super powerful naruu.

Same reason people name other natural formations like mountains, planets, and rivers.

Do you find these names strange? Should we just call rivers “flowing water 1”, “flowing water 2” etc? That’s ridiculous lol.

It provides specificity.

Well, Egypt did that but then again, the Nile was their ONLY river so no need to specify any closer than that.

did you, a human paladin, really ask why a society of super paladins gave a light based being a name.

The storyline of the crystal was already given to us. And that’s not what it is.

With people named “The Great Kyron” on their team I dunno why expect anything else.

They are clearly psychopaths.

Religion rarely actually makes sense if you think even slightly critically about it.

That is such a false argument. Can we please get past the sophomoric level of answering a question with yet another question?

Well if you go up past the fork in the Nile there’s the White Nile whose source is Lake Victoria. The White Nile consists of the Victoria Nile, the Albert Nile and the Mountain Nile as it goes from lake to lake.

Then there is the Blue Nile which starts in Lake Tana in Ethiopia. That is the source of a HUGE controversy due to a major dam being built in Ethiopia.

I always greatly enjoyed the plaid Nile.

Compared to the freshman level question of “why do we even give things names”

Because Beledar means “Emperor’s Vision” and it is referencing a single, monumentally tremendous prophetic vision of such importance that it was deserving of a proper name. The name of that vision, “Emperor’s Vision”, tells of the Arathi fleet finding a source of the Light that is so strong and potent, as to be nearly as powerful as the sun. When the Arathi found the calcified essence of the Prime World Soul that had been the source of that vision, they appropriately named it Beledar, because it was literally the Emperor’s Vision, and that’s what Beledar means.

Not really… I could have used Mt Whitney as an example. It was renamed after Josiah Whitney and is part of the John Muir Trail here in California.

we give things “people names” all the time. Mountains, towns, rivers, schools, libraries, hospitals, highways, landmarks.

Our planets are named after ancient gods. Even Sol (the sun), which provides light in the sky.

It’s a tribute to Bellular.

Both he and the crystal are very dramatic.

There is a difference though. Beledar, as a faceted crystal, at least has a point, while Bellular does not.

The answer, my dude, was in the text box you closed saying to yourself, “Yeah, yeah, whatever, just give me my loot already.”

Maybe when they hear Beledar’s song, they get the feeling that it calls itself Beledar. :person_shrugging:
