Because if it weren’t this they’d have to complain about something else.
We don’t take kindly to folks who use logic around these parts.

I’m gonna guess that once classic is launched only those with a sub can post here. I’ll then turn into a lurker who will continue to follow it until I see layering gone.
Good point, I wonder if streamers will get a priority queue and get bumped to the top of the queue, while their fans need to wait in a queue that is hours long once the layering goes away, if it even will go away.
With the amount of players coming on launch day and the weeks after it is 100% needed. You #nochanges people are being incredibly naive trying to fight layering
Get layered son
Uh, no. At launch, almost everyone will be logging in at THE SAME TIME. People schedule to be off work or call in, they skip school, etc… There will likely never be more people online in Classic over its entire lifespan than there will be in the first few days.
By phase 2, many will have quit because they tried it and didn’t like it, and most people will have gone back to their normal schedule. Different time zones, different work hours, people are back in school, etc…
There may be a queue or two on larger servers, but I seriously doubt it will be an issue at all.
Understood what you meant and I was not saying you are claiming they are the same. You are claiming they can be abused the same way though. That may end up as the reality of it but that does not have to be the case.
Layering is new tech. It can be adjusted to meet the concerns.
The who what where why when and how. Can all be different from CRZ and sharding. It’s hyperbole when implying that it can’t be different.
I like your ideas, let me offer a 3rd option.
They make classic a separate sub for the first 3 months and then change it to a shared sub.
They can use the separate sub numbers to know how many servers they will need at launch and smooth things out since there wont be tourists. When the door is opened for them in 3 months the regular playerbase is way out of starting zones.
Another option:
They keep layering the way it is and people that don’t like it simply don’t play it.
Easy peasy.
Eh, I wouldn’t say 100%. Its just more or less a tool that Blizz wants to make use of so that they can pull in new players to the game. Thus I am not against that to have more people playing.
If you looked on twitch during the stress test then you’ll see that they are trying to fix this issue. Remember the biggest issue with an MMORPG is the server capabilities. Having 500 people in one area that are all around the world pinging the server at different rates is a difficult issue. This will cause servers to crash and if it doesn’t crash that it will cause in game problems which will just make you upset because you can’t kill anything. Layering isn’t ideal I agree but the technology in order to remove layering isn’t possible. From being in the stress test it looks like they were messing around with the ideal number of people on each layer and tbh it was better than expected. If you watched asmon stream during the stress then you would see the stress test showed how many people on a layer were; 100+ players at least.
If you hate layering you should just wait until phase 2 to join. People will still be running MC weekly for bindings and eyes and gearing alts, and especially gearing new recruits.
Is it still Classic if there’s layering though? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the Classic experience? Food for thought.
See you in classic !!!
Cries about layering but we all know he will be playing classic on launch day.
Well if layering is happening, then that means that there’s a ton of people online, in the thousands. I doubt you’re going to notice that leetdeepzjohnny isn’t showing up somewhere in that crowd, so it’s not going to affect your “classic experience.”
“If you hate layering you should, the Vanilla fanboy/girl you are, just wait until months later to play the game you wanted to play for years”
At least you #changes folk keep making it clear time and time again just which audience Blizzard is catering to here with statements like these.
Is it a good buisness idea to spend like $500+ on a servers that will be abanonded in a week? Food for thought.
Chill out everyone, Op will play on the first day of release.
So you wanna settle for a Lidl version of Vanilla WoW as WoW Classic for potentially months of the game so Blizzard can save some money? Standards are so low these days.
