Battle.net and Wow.exe login queues

The last week there has been a login queue every time I try to login. Anywhere from 5-20 minutes. What exactly is going on? Is there something I missed? This impacts me as I often don’t have a whole lot of time to play and I’m paying for a sub for a game that is regularly interrupted.

We are aware of an issue that is affecting our authentication servers, which may result in slow or failed login attempts. We are currently investigating the cause and will provide updates as they are available.

This is happening every day for the last week. I need a further explanation from customer support.

o.O

No, we really don’t. They’re looking into the cause. What more information do you think that they’re going to be able to provide 3 minutes in?

Like I said before, this has repeatedly happened every day this week. And now I wait in battle.net queue just to end up waiting in the wow.exe queue in game. I’m a paying customer and I’m asking for information on what has been happening all week, not just “in the past 3 minutes.”

There has been a DDOS this week along with scheduled maintenance. That’s about it so far from what I’ve seen.

Not sure what other sort of details that they would even provide to us players beyond that.

While you’re welcome to ask, they’re not likely going to give you anything beyond what’s already known and been provided.

Yes I am inquiring about further information and more insight into what is being done.

I’m not satisfied with “we are investigating an issue and will provide updates” and the update being “we have fixed the issue,” because clearly the issue is not fixed and despite ToS saying there is no reimbursement for maintenance and downtime, they are going to hear about it from me every time from now on.

They already do hear about it every time. Ever since the launch of the game people have rushed to the forums panicking/angry/hysterical/demanding…take your pick!

They’re under no obligation to give you more detail just because you want it. Once they have an idea of what’s going on, they’ll let us know like they always do.

Edit to add Vrak’s recent reply in CS:

There has pretty much been a DDOS attack everyday for past week and a bit. And Microsoft has very bad security.

I’m extremely dissatisfied as a customer and they’re going to hear about it. The frequency of this occurring is unacceptable. What other business that charges a subscription doesn’t reimburse its customers for egregious downtime? None that I am a part of.

cancelling my one year sub as soon I can get logged in.

I’d recommend reaching out to those doing the DDOS attacks too. Perhaps ask them to stop doing them? That’s a good place to start

Blizzard has indeed reimbursed us in the past when downtimes have been extreme. But for an hour or two…you’re talking about pennies.

This is the second time in the last few days that this has happened for me, including the maintenance down time… this is becoming ridiculous considering we pay $15 a month for this game. Fortnite has less down time and its completely free and doesnt lag, unlike undermine being lag city.

I was on the game then tried to switch toons when i got disconnected from the servers now i am haveing more trouble logging in i wait in que when the que runs out i am then disconnected again

How is one of the largest gaming companies in the world effected by DDOS still in 2025?

Probably the same way Twitter/X was just a few days ago. By choosing a node adjacent and hitting it with enough traffic to knock everything else down around it.

Not sure if this is DDoS, nothing confirmed until it’s confirmed.

you forgot the GPU issue. The original post was correct… it has been every day this week with something new that either disconnects us or makes the game unplayable. it is getting… .frustrating.

Why is it such a circus over there?

Can you point me to where Blizzard officially reported DDoS attacks to be the cause earlier in the week?
