Hello, late to the thread but I still wanted to chime in.
As a warrior player on SoD. Those AV’s WERE, in fact, the only fun I’ve had in pvp on SoD.
Not just because I was basically a god (though it was pretty funny). Especially with the reworked badge from AQ that is literally just bladestorm.
But the real genuine reason, there wasn’t a boomie to starsurge stun me into starfire and delete me from existence in 4 seconds. While I can’t do anything about it. Or a hunter mashing kill shot. Or a frost mage spamming ice lance and killing me in like 5 casts with 0 interaction.
I got to actually play my class, I got to press buttons, I trinketed cc’s and used my defensives and lived on my own. Kinda like wrath if I’m honest. I didn’t just fall over to the broken class targeting me.
Sure, crushing people in blues is only funny for so long, but honestly, SoD pvp is just THAT BAD as a warrior. And even fighting fresh players in blues I needed to really stretch my kit to win 1v2+ depending on the classes.
Plus, it meant that even when the broken SoD classes DID show up, there were 1 or 2, and not 10, or 15, or in the case of AV 40.
I can’t imagine how Blizzard is ran. Who is responsible for the class design and balance? Do they get questioned in the office?
