Yes some mechanics are just unfair in the way they act with pets.
So I tonk him when he might get in trouble typically because pet AI is horrible, you wouldn’t understand because you only need to worry about yourself, your dps isn’t tied to a pet in which blizzard handles pretty poorly in TBC.
As xpacs go on they actually make pets immune to raid damage and bosses don’t target them for mechanics.

What’s funny is you don’t understand why it’s even used or how it’s used…
It’s not simply just used because my pets and fire and I’m too lazy to bring him back because I have that kind of pet management I do bring him back.
It’s used to stop stupid stuff like a quick one or two shot that’s going to come for instance quills, how do you expect any hunter to stop that from happening to their pet just keep their pet down there and not use him?
Or bosses that have a fixate as to why a boss can fixate on a pet is beyond me that’s when I use the item to bring him back it’s not because I’m too lazy to call back my pet because he’s standing in a rain of fire
sucks to play a hunter in those situations but its the class you picked.
just because blizz fixes it in wotlk doesnt make its okay to exploit an item to remove pet management now. Im anxiously awaiting dual spec and I would like them to add it now, but i still hoof it back to the trainer every time I need to respec.

If blizzard changes it then it’s considered cheating until then I’m using the item as it was designed.
Until blizzard actually fixes the item to make it not do what it’s doing which by the way is exactly acting how it’s supposed to act and blizzard has a problem with it then you can call it an exploit.

There are a lot of little broken things in these old games, but to me you have to consider magnitude. Does it increase his dps by 25%? World buffs were even worse. I doubt the tonk’s impact is even a small fraction of that.
I would have been okay with chickens if the buff wasn’t stackable, but 27.6% haste is just outrageous and game-breaking. Anyone who’s being honest should be able to see that.
