Did you? The ultimate goal is to cut out and extinguish that attachment. It goes away. The conflict evaporates. That’s not how these sort of things work. Constant vigilance is the hallmark of enlightenment. Without that, you have robotic response.
Meh. I’m choosing the vampire elves covenent for my vulp lock just so I can be in the area with the really cool looking castle(s). If there was ever one thing I was a fan of from gothic fantasy subgenre, it was the architecture.
The person in the quest literally struggles and fails, and becomes a forsworn lol.
I feel like there’s a lack of comprehension here. Let’s try again. I’m talking about Bastion’s system writ large. Within the quest, it does indeed fail, but that has no bearing on the intrinsically awful structure upon which it is based.
Yeah how is someone with attachments suppose to ship souls forever and ever?
This is literally the job description and goal
The Aspirants who surpass their trials earn the honor of becoming one of the Ascended and joining a higher calling beside the [Archon], first among the kyrian. At this point, they become ready for an eternity of service as a Val’kyr, spirit healer, or one of a couple of other paths. Rarely, an Aspirant will fail to complete a rite of passage and darken into one of the [Forsworn], who wander the plains of Bastion to lament and can spread doubt like a disease if left unchecked.
I’m kinda waiting to see the finished product, or at least what counts as finished these days, before rendering judgement.
BFA’s overall narrative has been a garbage fire but I do think a lot of the smaller questlines have been solid. Personally I’m just happy to see winged things use gravity as a weapon again we haven’t seen much of that since Wrath.
You’re making this sound like glorified factory work, which is way, way more funny than it should be.
Blizzard did call the machine of death, everyone has their roles and everyone has to keep going or everything fails. Which is normal in religious afterlifes for things like angels who do gods will for eternity
the machine of death is that we die, we are processed by the arbiter, and whichever afterlife we go to gets our anima.
I was actually imagining that exact clip when I posted that.
Wrong its more complicated than that
The kyrian are noble beings who shepherd mortal souls to [Oribos] when they enter the Shadowlands.
As souls plunge into the [Maw]and upheaval rocks the Shadowlands, scores of aspiring kyrian find themselves unable to continue their journey to ascension. Their numbers are now dwindling, and their duty to ferry souls to eternity is in jeopardy
Either you guys arent reading whats blizzard is putting down, or you are extremely xenophobic about eastern type afterlives ideas.
also feels like so many people think that most souls go to bastion it doesnt seem like that at all if forsworn are a rare thing like it says in the lore I dont think most people can give up who they are. SO why would they go to bastion
or im simply not okay with a afterlife that takes away your individuality. and the dead do not get to choose which afterlife they go to, the arbiter makes that decision. honestly i would prefer going to the maw or revendreth over bastion because at least there i get to keep my mind.
The arbiter chooses the people who are right for the job. Did you know that its the same in christian religion, you think people want to go to hell? God picks where you go and thats that. Revendreth isnt a final zone, you go there to atone for your sins or whatever then they send you somewhere else. And just saying, alot of hindus believe that the goal in life to when you die to eventually after some reincaration to realized that you are a part of god, and become one with all existance, they arent the only one who sees that as a good afterlife.
if that was true, the forsworn would not exist, and there are plenty of them
okay and? do you think i am a christian and using that in a argument would help you? you are barking up the wrong tree
i will keep committing sins in order to never leave
Rarely, an Aspirant will fail to complete a rite of passage and darken into one of the [Forsworn], who wander the plains of Bastion to lament and can spread doubt like a disease if left unchecked
No but you dont seem to understand religon whatsoever, so what are you to judge a afterlife, afterlife isnt logical or science it’s spiritual
not how it works but okay Also did you know theres more realms than the four? Blizzard said there was millions of realms, I suppose atheists will just not understand shadowlands at all I guess. I suppose instead of the moral debates we had in bfa we are gonna have religous debates in these fourms for shadowlands, great.
Every aspect of WoW’s afterlife seems pretty horrible, quite honestly. Even the “good” zones.
Kinda makes you understand why Sylvanas wants to stay the hell out of there at any cost, yeah?
which ones are the good zones? death doesnt seem evil or good to me, well other than the maw, but even that is a necessary thing isnt it, a prison for all the super mega evil souls so they don’t ruin the rest of the shadowlands and destroy the universe.
well looking at the gameplay we got of bastion people seem pretty ok there, the only truely terrible place is the maw. And if sylvanas really wanted to stay out of hell she could just become a hermit and never make enemies, I dont think ripping the veil and bringing hell to the living is staying out of hell.
honestly, i am so close to teaming up with sylvanas to destroy the afterlives, ending reality is preferable to these crappy afterlives
