Bard Class. Is it possible?

Maybe it breaches realities like Mage invisibility. Or maybe it’s just that the Bard is playing so loud that everything stops paying attention to what’s around them and is focused solely on the Bard allowing his team to go unnoticed.

When I think of a bard class in WoW, I think of a healer class that is basically the reverse of an affliction warlock…that buffs players around them instead of adding DOTs to mobs. Of course, it would also have to do damage, so have it be a spellcaster that can do damage…possibly another class that has a pet - an actual familiar, like the old-school mages in D & D - and have a different type that becomes available after so many levels, similar to a warlock. I think it could be like the Demon Hunter and have only 2 specs, a healing spec and a damage spec.

I play the Bard in FFXIV, by far my favorite class out of all the ones in FF and WoW

Lull you to sleep so they can frolic off to pick more flowers

Would be too similar to hunter or rogue and they don’t like that.

Seems support classes are not a thing either, we’re just heal/dps hybrids.

No, next question.

I do not get the idea of dealing damage with music. It’s silly. Might as well have a painter class who throws paint buckets. It all sounds childish to me. I like the idea of a sculptor class better. One that creates golems on the spot. But how will he fight? Just stand in the corner and start sculpting? Leave the artists in their studio apartments.

FF11 bard say hello. It’s a true support class that does song and got instruments skills.

14 bard is a joke.

if we ever get “class skins” yes

Man, I miss pure support classes in MMOs. I understand why the current gen games don’t have them but it was so fun to run around and play my flute in FFXI.

It probably be a spec if anything. Bard just seems like a idea that people likes because of the fantasy aspect it could do but really… What sense can they really pull as far as abilities go? I can think more class ideas and specs that have a much more heroic fitting for WoW. Bard is just not one of them sadly, plus, we’d need a lot more weapons with instrumental designs because we got like… 3?

And to be fair, I’d like a new class, even if it ends up being bard, something new to add is nice but I just can’t even imagine Bard being one of them.

FF14 made Bard work very well. It is true to the feel of a Bard, while also being very, very useful to the team.

Years ago, I would have said No, it doesn’t have a place in WoW. Because Paladins snd Shaman were the “Walking Buff” classes. Their purpose in dungeons and raids were to buff the people around them.

But those days are gone. So, we don’t really have a “buff” class anymore. I think a Bard would fill that role nicely.

not gonna lie, i’d play it. zero interest in THAT being the next class but i am so burnt out on what we have that i’d be rolling bard on day one

the idea of musical instruments as weapons sounds so dumb (sorry!). no idea on how blizz could make it cool. I LIKE the idea of buffing and debuffing but… guitars? violins? harps? @_@

i think i’d rather have something that uses whips maybe? dragoon? shield and spear? really, what we need is a new caster/ranged that wears mail…

Erg. I still have carpal tunnel from the last bard class I played.

But, gods, if it wasn’t the most fun I had.

Would love to play one if they get it right,

Wait, you mean I’m not already playing the bard class?

And here I was trying to sleep with everything…

I would love to play a bard support class. Not much bard-type figures in WoW lore, however, so it seems unlikely.

Quite frankly, Blizzard should have a REAL bard in real life as a full time job singing songs and dirges of all kinds about everything that happens in WoW.

No one enjoys seeing their corpse get luted.
